Cookie MADISON Russell A. Cookie Cook, age 77, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002. He was bom in Montfort, on April 26, 1924, to the late Bert and Frankie Bell (Bickford) Cook. After graduating from Montfort High School Russell joined the Navy and spent three years serving during WWII.

After returning to civilian life he married Mona Brown in June of 1948. They lived in Cobb for 22 years where Russell and Mona owned and operated Cookies In 1974 they moved to Las Vegas, where managed the plumbing department at VonTo-bels. After living in Las Vegas for 10 years they returned to Wisconsin and made their home in Madison, where they have lived since 1984. Cookie will be remembered for his quick wit. He will be missed by his family and friends including his wife, Mona Cook of Madison; and his daughters, Debbie Wallace and Susan Pratt both of Madison.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Roscoe Cook. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Shortly after he began his employment at Madison General, he met Mary Allen, who had also come to Madison to train and work as a radiologic technologist. Keith and Mary fell in love and married on July 6, 1957, In Joliet, 111., where Mary had been born and raised. Keith served in the US Army at Fort Ord, from 1956-1958. After his service Keith and Mary returned to the Madison area where they have lived ever since. Keith is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Mary; a son, Michael (Sydney) of Milwaukee, a daughter, Ann (Carolyn) of Madison, a granddaughter, Lauren of Madison, a sister, Dorothy (John) Muza of Oshkosh, a brother, John Jack (Sylvia) of Mauston, and an extended family including the Beach family of the Chicago.

Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is serving the family. Hozeny, Walter MADISON Walter Hozeny, age 89, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Hebron Oaks Nursing Home in Oak-wood Village, Madison. He was bom on Sept. 2, 1912, to Emil and Epiphania (Martinedes) Hozeny in Yonkers, N.Y.

He was educated in Perth Amboy, N.J. In 1941, he joined the US Army Air Force and received his training as a radio operator at Truax Field in Madison. While there he met his future wife, Helene Abel. During WWII, he served as a radio operator in England, earning the rank of staff sergeant. On June 21, 1945, he married Helene Abel.

They moved to New Jersey where Walter co-owned and operated two small businesses. In 1955, the couple and their two children returned to Madison. Walter took a job as soon afterward as a lab technician for the UW Medical School Physiology Department until his retirement in 1976. He was a devoted family man and a kind and mischievous He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, making home repairs, and watching sports.1 He is survived by his wife, Helene; his son, Tony (Joanne Cullen); his daughter, Betsy (Patrick) Ryan; his grandchildren, Jesse Hozeny, Abigail, Brigid, and Katherine Ryan and Caitlin and Francis Hozeny; his brother, Raymond (Anne) Hozeny and his sister, Hilda Deak, both of Perth Amboy, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Emil and Vincent; and his sisters, Anna Buccholz, Sophie Brennan, Frances Frey and Emily Triggs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2131 Rowley Madison. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m.

BARNEVELD Kenneth O. Johnsrud, age 77, of Barneveld died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at St. Marys Hospital in Madison, after a brief illness. He was bom Dec.

13, 1924 in Dodge-ville to Leonard and Stella (Jul-son) Johnsrud. Kenneth was married in a double wedding ceremony with Amos and Marie Peterson, to the former Joan E. Hendrickson, on July 15 1943 at Perry Lutheran Church in Da-leyville, Wise. Ken farmed in Brigham Township, worked at Oscar Mayer, Findorff Construction and part-time at Iowa County Chrysler. He moved to Barneveld in 1961 and retired in 1986.

He was a member of Barneveld Lutheran Church, the Wisconsin Labor Union Local 464 and the EAA. His special interests were flying, woodworking, church and his community. Survivors include his wife, Joan; his children, Roger (Linda) Johnsrud of Nevada, Susan (Jim) Segebrecht of Ladysmith, Jeff (Ann) Johnsrud of Hollandale, Denise (her friend. Art Tweeten) Johnsrud of Lafayette, ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his step-sisters, Joann (Vince) Parisi of Madison, Carol Sullivan of Milwaukee, Marlene Martinez of Washington State; her step-brother, Jim (Alberta) Sullivan of Madison; and many relatives and friends. Eve K. Williamson, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in Soldotna, Alaska, at the age of 82. Mrs. "Williamson was horn April 21, 1919, in Viroqua, the daughter of Jens and Brigetta (Jacobson) Vigdahl.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by her son, David Williamson of Soldotna; daughters, Jill Ko-pecky and her husband, Bill of Soldotna and Dede Hinton and her husband, Eric of Anchorage; grandchildren, Jamie and Josh Hinton of Anchorage, and Barb Kopecky of Oregon and Paul Kopecky of Soldotna; and great-granddaughter, Jillanna Kopecky of Oregon. 15, 2002, at the Don Marilyn Anderson Hospi-ceCare inpatient unit. He was born on Feb. 3, 1924, the son of Joseph and Mamie (Chiovaro) Caravello. Steve attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Madison Central High School.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1943, serving in WWII aboard the distinguished USS Cassin Young. In May of 1947 Steve married Betty Lincicum, who preceded him in death in Oct. of 1986. In September of 1989 he married Bernadette Hickman. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Bemie; three children, Joe (Patti) of Los Angeles, Michael of Sun Prairie and Diane (Lee) Larsen of Fitchburg; three step-sons, Dennis (Clara) Hickman of the United Arab Emirates, Michael (Janet) Hickman of Rochester, and Patrick (Linda) Hickman of Ashland; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Florence Han-kel; and a brother, Joe Caravello both of Sacramento, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at ST. JOSEPHS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1905 W.

Cheryl Madison, 53711. Cress Funeral Service (608) 238-3434 Caspers, Elizabeth (Fadness) MADISON Elizabeth Caspers, age 100, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at the Meriter Health Gare Center. Elizabeth was bom March 28, 1901 in rural Keyeser in Columbia County, the daughter of Andrew and Belle (Hatfle-berg) Fadness. She graduated from Rio High School and attended Lawrence College for one year.

Elizabeth graduated from Whitewater State Teachers College and taught school for two years. She worked for the USAFI and retired after 25 years of service. She married Walter John Caspers on June 11, 1969. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1979. Elizabeth is survived by her step-children, Dorothy Cook, Rosemary Martin, Linda Mitchell, Walter J.

Caspers; a sister-in-law, Inez M. Fadness; nieces and nephews, Virginia M. Norgood, Donald M. Fadness, John M. Fadness, Joan M.

Kerwin, Patricia Fadness, Darcy Jean Barker, Nancy Ann Mielotz; great-nieces and nephews; ana a very special caregiver, David Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; two sisters; a step-daughter, Alice Carduff; a nephew, James Fadness; and a niece, Bonnie Pearson. 16, 2002, after a brief illness. He was born on Sept. 28, 1911, in Deerfield Township, a son of the late Herman and Augusta (Draeger) Kreuger. Harold married Selma Midthun of Deerfield on Dec. 16, 1932.

Together they farmed in the Cottage Grove area until their retirement. Selma continues to live in the home they shared for 66 years. Harold was a charter member of the Deerfield Rod and Gun Club and one of the first members of the Board of Directors. He and his wife were members of the Stoughton Weekenders Club. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards.

Harold truly enjoyed farming and watching things grow. After his retirement he continued his love with many gardens, and sharing his bounty with his many friends. He had the gift of being able to start a conversation with a perfect stranger that frequently ended with the making of a new friend. He was a long-standing member of St. Pauls Liberty Lutheran Church in Deerfield.

His family members include his wife, Selma; his sons, Ronnie and Richard (Marlene) Kreuger of Cottage Grove; his grandchildren, Dale (Cindy) Kreuger, Michael (Kristine) Kreuger, Julie Kreuger, and Susan (Jeff) Bush; his greatgrandchildren, Michael, Alex, Megan and Mackenzie Kreuger; two sisters, Mildred Kittleson of Stoughton and Marian (George) Hauge of Deerfield; a sister-in-law, Margie Kreuger of Deerfield; two brother-in-laws, Larry Balch of Edgerton and Edwin Tofte of Deerfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vernon Kreuger; two sisters, Dorothy Balch and Jeanette Tofte; a brother-in-law, Norris Kittleson; and two infant sons, Howard and Robert. Stanzel, age 91, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 at Meriter Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1910, the daughter of Joseph and Madora (Reitberger) Hel-mus. Madora graduated from Madison East High School. She met and married Edward G.

Stanzel Sr. Madora is survived by two sons, Edward G. Jr. and Robert both of Madison; five grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Robert. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; three sisters; and two brothers.

20). Fleming, Keith Alan BROOKLYNBELLEVILLE -Keith Alan Fleming, age 67, died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Wm. J. Middleton Veterans Memorial Hospital in Madison, after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 7, 1934, in Park Falls, the son of Harry and Irene (Hannish) Fleming. Keith attended schools throughout Wisconsin, including Park Falls, Baraboo, Brooklyn and Beloit. He was a 1952 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. Following his graduation from high school, Keith moved to Madison to train as a radiologic technologist at Madison General Hospital (now Meriter).

He graduated from Madison Generals x-ray training program in 1953, ana began his employment there, initially serving as a floor tech. He served for many years as the Technical Director of the Department of Radiology at Madison general managing the x-ray training program and teaching until the school moved to Madison Area Technical College (MATC) in the mid-1980s. He continued to teach, and to manage MATC's x-ray training program until his retirement in 1.
