Dane County Sheriffs deputies and UW-Madison police discovered 41 bullets hollowpoint, commonly usedforplunk-ing smaller varmints at three spots; 11 near the Capitols State Street entrance, 29 near the King Street entrance and one at the North Hamilton Street entrance. UW-Madison Police Chief Susan Risel-ing testified to those details at a court hearing, saying no guns were found. While blogs and tweets were filled with mock and real outrage and speculation, the issue was further muddied that af ternoon when a city of Madison worker found 29 bullets, also in a public stairway and public bathroom in the City-County Building, a block from the Capitol. Two weeks later, officially, the state Department of Justices Division of Criminal Investigation has the case, and because this is an open, ongoing investigation, we would not have any additional comment at this time, a spokesman said.

And the bullets found in the City- County Building? Dropping bullets is not a crime, said Joel DeSpain, Police Department spokesman. So an investigation of found property is not on the front burner, and no further information was available. George Hesselberg YOU CAN TURN IT ON TAKE 25-70 OFF!
