He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved step-mother, Anne Best Renfert; and his oldest sister, Wandy Win-terbotham. Fred maintained his sense of humor to the end. KRUMM, Clarence Joseph, 97, Baraboo, Feb. 27. I Ahner, Genevieve M. FOND DU LAC Genevieve M. Ahner, age 89, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, February 28, 2000, at All a About Life Rehabilitation Center, 1 She was born on June 2, 1910, in Fond du Lac, tne daughter of i -Adolph and Jane Onk Ollerman.

Genevieve married Charles W. Ahner, on February 1, 1930, in Fond du Lac. They lived in Madi- son and then Milwaukee before I moving to Fond du Lac. She is sur-I vived by her son, Charles (Sandra) 1 Ahner, of Fond du Lac; and her twin sons Ronald (Sue) Ahner, of Cross Plains, and Richard (Mary Ann) Ahner, of Madison; eight grandchildren, Kathleen Gill, Robert Ahner, Laura Pollick, Maria Dis-rud, Stefanie Ahner, Kirsten Ahner, Kim Pitnev, and Amy Snow; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lu-; cille Messner, of Fond du Lac; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1982, and nine siblings.

The funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at MACH FUNERAL CHAPEL, with Reverend Stuart Zak officiating. The visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the serv ice at Mach Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.

The Mach Funeral Chapel is serving the family. The Lord looked down upon you and saw that you were ready to be called home. Forever you will be in our hearts and remembered as our very loving mother and. grandmother. God bless you and may you rest in peace.

Alt, Leona SAUK CITY Leona Alt, age 89, of Sauk City, died on Sunday, February 27, 2000. Arrangements are pending at GNEW1KOW-1100 VERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City. Clifcprn, Ralph L. MADISON Ralph L. Clifcorn, age 56, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 27, 2000 at a local hospital.

He was born on July 15, 1943 in Madison, the son of Vernon and Gudron (Opheim)' Clifcorn. He was a Madison resident all his life. Ralph married Lois Stenulson on September 16, 1967 in Black River Falls. He was employed by Dairy Equipment Company as a welder for 35 years. He was a member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church for 26 years.

His children and grandchildren were his pride ana joy. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, camper and horseshoe player. He also enjoyed garage sales and dart ball playing at Lake Edge Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Lois; his three children, Rebecca (Rowdy) Seipt of Columbus, and Joel Clifcorn and Bret Clifcorn, both of Madison; two grandchildren, Cora and Abby Seipt of Columbus; his parents, Vernon and Gudron Clifcorn of Madison; a brother, James (Sue) Clifcorn of Madison; and a sister, Carolyn Clifcorn of Madison. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Clifcorn.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona with Pastors Shirley Funk and Richard Blomker officiating. McKey, nee Kahl, age died February 27, 2000, in Madison following a brief illness.

She was born to Everette and Virginia Keefe Kahl in Nevada, Iowa on March 22, 1939. Nancy grew up in Rockwell City, Iowa and Grinnell, Iowa and graduated from Grinned High School in 1957. She attended the University of Iowa and Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. For the last year-and-a-half, Nancy was Director of Community and Public Relations at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. Previously, she was Executive Director of the Friends of Banning Park in Long Beach California; Associate Director of the School of Journalism at the University of Southern California; Director of University and Alumni Events at the University of Southern California; Assistant Director of the Annenberg Center for the Study of the American Experience in Los Angeles; Assistant to the Convention Manager of the 1976 Republican National Convention; and from 1971 to 1978 she was the Senior Assistant to the President of the University of Wisconsin System.

Nancy will be greatly missed by her parents, Everette and Virginia Kahl of Columbia, Missouri; her daughter, Melissa Helgesen of Verona; her son, Patrick McKey of Winnetka, Illinois; and her brother, Stephen Kahl of Dallas, Texas. She was adored by her grandchildren Bethany and Debra Wheeler and Connor and Nicole McKey. A close friend recently remarked, she was such a good person she made the rest of us look bad. Not only was she a beloved and admired friend and colleague she was also an exemplary daughter, mother, grandmother, and professional. A memorial gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m.

Nelson, age 84, died suddenly on February 9, 2000 at the Stoughton Hospital He was bom on March 1, 1915 in Stoughton, a son of the late Alfred and Gunda (Furseth) Nelson.

He raduated from Stoughton High chool and attended the University of Wisconsin from 1934 to 1938 majoring in engineering. From 1938 to 1941 he was employed as a Deputy Surveyor mapping out all tne townships in Dane County. In 1941, he worked with the U. S. Army Engineers in Little Rock Arkansas on dam designs.

During the war in 1942 Clif worked for a Chicago engineering firm laying out Truax Field in Madison as an Air Force Camp. In December of 1942 he went to work for Ray-O-Vac in Madison manufacturing batteries with the unique quality of being able to float for Army walkie talkies. After the war he continued working for Ray-O-Vac until 1955 as an assistant chief development engineer. From 1955 to 1961 he worked for Caterpillar Tractor Equipment in sales. In 1961 he went to work for Nelson Muffler as a sales engineer, moved onto chief reduction engineer for Universal ilencer until his retirement in 1981.

Clifford married the former Athalene Schiltz of Madison in 1940. She preceded him in death in 1969. In 1988, he married the former Helen Dietrich of McFarland. She preceded him in death in 1989. In 1991, he married Alice Onsrud of Stoughton, who preceded him in death in 1999.

He was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church in Stoughton. Clifford is survived by his children, Bonnie (Jim) Gebauft of Cold Spring, Minnesota, David Nelson (Mary Main! of Eagle River, Kathy Melhuse (Malcolm Snider) of Salem, Oregon, Mary Nelson (Bill Osterberg) of Cleveland, Ohio, Sue Nelson (John Feeney) of Janesville, Ricky (Linda) Nelson of St. Germain; fifteen grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Catherine (Andrewl Ewen of Madison; a step-son, Davia (Lena) Onsrud of Madison. Dad was an intelligent, artistic person, a talented silversmith, a wood craftsman, and an outdoorsman who also loved to dance and enjoyed people.

Well miss him. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at ST ANNS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren Street in Stoughton. Father Gerard Hoaly will officiate.

MADISON Frederic Renfert, of Madison, died on Saturday, February 26, 2000 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital following a brief illness resulting from bladder cancer, Fred was born in Galveston, Texas on October 14, 1923, the fourth child of Henry Renfert and Wanda Stresau Renfert. He attended Asheville School and graduated from the Choate School, studied at the Goethe Institute, Un-iversitat Heidelberg and LUniver-sita Italians per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy.

He attended tho University of Texas, received a degree in animal husbandry from the University of Wisconsin and attended UW Law School, F'red, or Babbo ns he is known by his family, was a true eccentric. He spoke German, French and Italian, and peppered his speech generously with words and phrases from those languages, as well as from Swahili, Farsi, Russian and many other tongues. He was a gourmot diner, an obsessive shopper, and a talented stock nicker. Ho collected obscure epigrams, mountains of books, and recipes from around the world. Diehl was born in Lisbon, North Dakota, on December 27, 1924, the daughter of Newton and Florence (Hanna) Diehl. Beverly married William T.

Howard, on July 22, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Howard died on August 22, 1965. Beverly devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, William T.

(Bonnie) Howard, of Madison; her daughter, Colleen Dorrian, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Nicole Dorrian, Aaron Dorrian, Troy Howard, and Casey Howard; a great-grandson, Joshua Dorrian; and a sister, Ruth lies of Bolivar, Ohio. He was born in Stratford on February 23, 1949, the son of Jerome and Sylvia (Wunsch) Kann. Kevin was employed at Meriter Hospital in Madison for more than 20 years. He enjoyed Badgers games, flower gardening, and spending time with nis dog, Bensyn.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. Survivors include his life partner, Larry Neumaier, of Mazomanie; his parents, Jim and Sylvia Kann, of Stratford; three sisters, Jackie (Dick) Bangert, of Wisconsin Rapids, Reyne Kann, of Pewaukee, and Kathy (Charlie) Timberg, of Excelsior, Minnesota; three nieces and two nephews; and many friends. Lemke, age 84, died on Sunday, February 27, 2000, at Oakwood Village Lutheran Homes. She was born on September 9, 1915 in Stroud, Oklahoma. Throughout her lifetime, Nova was a cook and a personal care assistant. She was a member of Midvale Lutheran Church in Madison and a resident of Oakwood Village since 1978. Nova is survived by her four children, Daniel (Shirley) Lemke of Mission Viejo, California, Mona (Vince) Accardo of Madison, Jeanne Russmann of Honeybrook, Pennsylvania, and Loretta (Richard) Cook of Carlsbad, California; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a groat, great-grandchild; two brothers, Earl (Eileen) Smith of Tipler, Wisconsin, and Veeser (Gwen) Smith of Long Lake, Wisconsin; two sisters, Iva Colo of Florence, Wisconsin, and Beulah Kasten of Madison; and numerous cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at RESURRECTION Cl IAPEL In Oakwood Riley, Violet H. MADISON Violet H. Riley, age 85, of Madison, died on Sunday, February 27, 2000. She was born on April 9, 1914, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Nelson) Thysse.

Violet was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She also loved Madison ana lived here all her life. She married Robert Riley on February 29, 1932. She had a great love of the arts and was a painter for over 20 years of her life and a bridge player. She was a lifelong member of Our Saviours Evangelical Lutheran Church and an active member of Womens Aid.

Violet found joy in her family's accomplishments and dedication to each other. She loved her family, her church, and her countiy. She was a kind, gentle caregiver for all of her family, including those that preceded her in death. Violet is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert; two children, Eileen (Arthur) Henning, and Ramon (Eloise) Riley; five grandchildren, Thomas Henning, Michael Henning, Katie (Darrin) Sullivan, Dr. Robert (Lee) Riley, and Patrick (Anne) Riley; her reat-grandchildren, Heather, lolly, Chad, Sam, Brady, Brandon, Richard, Beth, and Jack; a sister, Norma Jerrick; and many other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her arents; her granddaughter, Colleen mith; a brother, John Thysse; and four sisters, Aveline Natvig, Theodora Strand, Josephine Johnson, and Burnette Garner. Sacho, age 86, died on Monday, February 28, 2000, at the Countryside Nursing Home in Jefferson. She was bom on October 27, 1913, in Green Bay, the daughter of Fred and Julia (RentmaesterJ Bowers. Mrs. Sacho married Wallace J. Sacho on December 27, 1941, in Green Bay.

She was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie. Mrs. Sacho was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, Sun Prairie, where she was a member of the St. Zita Circle. She was a former employee of the Ohio Medical Products Company of Madison.

Mrs. Sacho is survived by her son, Frank (Mary) Sacho of Fredonia; her daughter, Julie (LarryJ Clark of Lake Mills; seven grandchildren, Jill Hughey, Ann (Tom) Brezenski, Wayde Hughey, Jason Sacho, Jeremy Sacho, Shaun Sacho and Nate Sacho; a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Brezenski; four sisters, Eleanor (Plarold) Brosteau, Helen Skortz, Ruth Kuiper and Arlene (Donald) Larscheid, all of Green Bay; four brothers, Richard (Shirley) Bowers of Sun City, Arizona, and Cliff (Ruth) Bowers, Pat (Jerry) Bowers and Gordon Bowers, all of Green Bay; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
