She was particularly proud of her work in the League of Women Voters, serving on the state board in Indiana.

The happiest years of her life were spent in Dune Acres, Chesterton, Indiana, a small community on Lake Michigan. The Rogers built a log cabin there, in 1932, where the family spent summers. In 1945, the Rogers moved to Dune Acres permanently, where their home became a magnet for their children and grandchildren. Elizabeth Rogers was a pioneer in the successful battle to make the surrounding area a national lakeshore and testified in Washington before the committee of Senator Paul Douglas of Illinois, the proposal's sponsor. In their retired years, the Rogers lived in Scottsdale, Arizona in the winter and then moved there year-round in 1974.

Elizabeth Rogers moved to the Oakwood Village Apartments In 1980 after her husband's death and then to Tabor Oaks at Oakwood in 1992. She is survived by her two children, Mary Louise Munts of Madison, and Thomas Hunton Rogers, Jr. of State College, Pennsylvania; her five grandchildren, Lisa Redburn of Montclair, New Jersey, Polly Munts of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Andrew Munts of Radnor, Pennsylvania, Rebecca Rogers of lowa City, lowa, and Susan Rogers of Highland Falls, New York; and six greatgrandchildren, Jeremy and Emily Redburn of Montclair, Eliza and Lydia Talen of Minneapolis, and Alice and Thomas Debarre of lowa City.
