Thompson has not repeated his attack on Manson. His office has been working closely with the Insurance, Banking, and Securities Departments in the investigation.

In its capacity as counsel for the Securities Department, Thompson's office hired an outside firm of accountants to check the books of MAGIC and Allied. Allied Development was organized in 1962. At that time, according to a company prospectus, $250,000 in cash was contributed to the firm by Hoards Creameries, Ft. Atkinson. Kelly is chief executive officer of Hoards Kyle said.

Amelia Zuch i1 The statement was issued by Robert C. Kelly, Ft. Atkinson, prescient of MAGIC and vice president of Allied, and Neil A. Woodington, Madison, president of Allied and, until his resignation earlier in the week, vice president of MAGIC. The statement by Kelly and Woodington said: None of the officers, directors or attorneys for the corporations involved were ever contacted prior to this action being taken; all of this In spite of the fact that we have cooperated fully and completely with all state departments concerned.

These corporations have been subjected to libelous and malicious attacks because an attorney general who finds himself in deep political trouble cries desperately for something to keep his name in the papers. The thousands of stockholders of these corporations do not appreciate these continued and unwarranted attacks. We thought that the entire matter had been settled by voluntarily offering two unjustified resignations. We intend specifically to hold responsible any party who circulates the libel contained in the orders. The attorney general, however, seems intent on destroying two fine companies.

We have weathered prior attacks and we intend to see that our stockholders continue to be protected in the future The investigation has had some political overtones. Woodington and MAGIC'S former secretary and current general counsel, Clarence Bylsma of Madison, are ao tive Democrats. Atty. Gen. George Thompson, a Republican, in August, called upon Gov.
