Berg Olson and Roland Cole motored to Omro, Wis, Sunday to spend New Years Day with relatives and friends. They returned Wednesday. Miss Ruth, a Whitewater normal student, spent part of her vacation with Miss Sena Babington in the village and at Cassell at the Babington cottage. Miss Ruths home is in Montana. Mrs.

Clara Conger of Mondovi was a guest at the home of Mrs. Alice Conger a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Leigh and daughter visited Mrs.

L. Campbell. Mrs. Wm. Kurth and daughter, Mabel, were at Madison Thursday.

Worden. Hazel Hughes has returned to her home in Beloit after visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Etta Hughes. Miss Merle Sholtg left Sunday for Beaver Creek, to resume her school work after spending the holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

A. Geske has. returned to her home here after spending several eks in Menominie Falls, caring for her mother. Misg Marie McGill left Sunday for Superior to resume her in the kindergarten school of the Normal. Miss Catherine Chapman of riatteville, enroute to Nekoosa, visited with Mr.

and Mrs. E. F. Kramer last week. Miss Ethel Shampnor, a student at College, returned to Appleton Sunday after spending the holiday at her home here.

Mrs. John Gilbert left Sunday for Sawtelle, having been called Mrs. Anna Dahle of Mt. Horeb spent Sunday at the bogie of Ercell Kendrick. Edith Zippelin returned home Friday after a visit at the home of Carl Rowe near Dodgeville.

Store Manager Resigns After Half Century Work EVANSVILLE, Wis. T. C. R. Richardson, who has served as manager of the Grange store for iorty-nine years, has resigned.

Robert Richardson, nephew of the retired manager, will fill the vacancy. Roscoe Haynes, who for Several years has been' the head of the dry goods department of the Grange store, has resigned to accept a position in Chicago. Mrs. John Klitzman is ill at her home in Magnolia. Rural school teachers from Viear Evansville attended a teachers meeting at the high school Saturday.

Mrs. Walter Green has been substituting in the Oregon high school the past week. John Swancutt is suffering from a severe attack of muscular rheumatism. The management of the Evansville feed mill was taken over on Monday by N. W.

Berick and L. B. Cummings. Prof. Schultz of Oregon spoke at the Congregational church Sunday night on The Bible and Literature.

The Rev. O. W. Smith is recovering from his recent illness. The funeral of Mrs.

Alice and Mayme Williams were at Madison last Friday. Rosilla Anderson returned to her home at Stanley, Saturday after spending the summer here. Hazel Pauli of Ridgeway was a visitor at the home of Spencer Harris Saturday. Anna Donley returned Saturday after a two weeks visit at Willows Lake, S. Dakota.

Struck of Cazenovia were guests at the Richardson home Sunday and Monday. They returned by way of Baraboo Monday, accompanied by Mr and Mrs. Richardson, who went from Baraboo to N. Freedom for a New Years call on relatives. Dorothy Miles spent a few days in Madison with her aunt.

23. Mrs. P. W. Hales went to the Madison Methodist hospital Saturday, Dec 30, and had a tumor removed from her face which had been slowly developing for the past 16 years.

She returned home the same day and is doing nicely under the care of Dr. H. N. Winn. Mr.

and Mrs. Chas. Mair gave a New Years dinner party at their honjer to which Mr and Mrs. Thos. Mair, Mr.

and Mrs. Roswell Mair, and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Morrison Morrisonville, Mr. and Mrs Mair of Columbus and Mr.

Indiana Beans Taboo Smoking in Buildings Smoking is taboo in the college buildings of Indiana universitv since the deans decided to enforce an old rule to that effect. Organizations giving a dance in a college building will be penalized their next university dance if men -who attend smoke in the buildings or on the steps.
