The city common council appropriated the balance of the salary at their February meeting.

Penalties will be imposed upon all late returns. Some persons have the erroneous impression that when their income is below their exemptions, that no return is necessary, and simply write across the blank that their income is not sufficient to be taxed. When a blank is sent to a person, the law states that such person shall make a replort, specifying the details of the amounts of income received by him and returns without the income and expenses itemized will not be accepted by the assessor of incomes.
