THE CAPITAL TIMES, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1964 Obituaries Father Was Early Progressive Walter Affholder, Gisholt Co. Employe, Dies at Age of 67 Walter Affholder, 67, of 2685 Milwaukee a lifelong Madison resident and a son the late Clem F. Affolder, of the same address, who was a well known, Progressive, died Monday in a hospital here. The elder Mr.

Affholder died in December at age 93. Walter Affholder had been an employe of Gisholt Machine Co. here for 24 years, working until about two weeks ago when he became ill. He was a veteran of World War I. His father, a retired tool and die maker, was a longtime former employe of the Ray-0-Vac Co.

here. At the time of his death the father had resided in Madison about 70 years, and a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Surviving Walter Affholder are two sisters, Mrs. Don Perry, Chicago, and Mrs.

Funeral rites will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home, and at 9:30 in St. Bernard's Church. Msgr. Theodore F.

Jackman, 64, Janesville Banker, Is Dead JANESVILLE Claremont S. Jackman, 64, Route 4, Janesville, chairman of the board of directors of the Rock unty National Bank and the Rock County Savings and Trust died Sunday in a local hospital. Mr. a ckman was a Janesville native. He attended St.

John's Military Acade-1 my, el a field, Mr. Jackman and entered the family banking business in 1919. He was a veteran of both World Wars I and II, and a member of the Masonic and Elks Lodges. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J.

J. Cornelius Johnson J. Cornelius Johnson, 76, Milwaukee, a former Madison and town of Burke resident, died Monday at Wood Veterans Administration Hospital. He left Madison about 10 years ago. Surviving Mr.

Johnson are daughter, Mrs. Ed Vall, Milwaukee, and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Olson, Sun Prairie, and Mrs. Clara Lewis, Oakland, Calif. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Ekleberry, Richland Center, Dies at Age 101 RICHLAND CENTER Mrs. Alice Ekleberry, 101, a lifelong Richland county resident, died Monday in a Richland county nursing home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pratt funeral home, Richland Center, where friends may call after 3 p.m. today. The former Alice Stewart was married to Willis Ekleberry in 1882. Mr.

Ekleberry died in 1927. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Marshall and Mrs. Omar Briggs, both of Richland center; and Mrs. Hallie Smith, Viola; 26 grandchildren; 63 3 great-grandchildren, and 17 great -grandchildren.

Mrs. Mather, 87, of Monroe, Dies Mrs. Mary Mather, 87, a longtime resident of Monroe, who moved to Madison in 1947, died Monday in a Madison hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in Adams township. Green county, Mrs.

Mather was the wife of the late Albert D. Mather, who died in 1931. She was the mother of the late Mrs. Ruth a Ann Danielson, who died in Madison in 1950. Mrs.

Danielson was a longtime Madison school teacher. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. William Fardy, 810 Terry with whom she had made her home here; and another sister, Mrs. Ella Witte, Beloit. The body was taken to the (Stuessy funeral will home, Monroe.

Is Dead Alfred W. Dohr, 71, a resident for about two years at Greendale, near Milwaukee, with his daughter, Mrs. Ralph C. Kvitle, died unexpectedly today at the Kvitle home. He retired in September, 1961, as general engineer at the U.S.

Forest Products Laboratory here, with which he had been associated since 1912. He was born in Madison in 1892, and was a lifelong resident here until going to Greendale. He was a graduate of Madison (now Central) High School, and attended the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Dohr's wife, the Charlotte O'Dair, died in 1953.

He was an Army veteran of World War and was a member and past master of Madison Ma- sonic Lodge No. 5. Surviving, besides his daughter, are a grandchild, and a brother, Emil Dohr, 629 W. Lakeside st. here.

Masonic funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Frautschi funeral home, 3610 Speedway rd. here, under auspices of Madison Lodge No. 5. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.

He also is survived by his wife, Minnie; a daughter, Bonnie, at home; his mother, Mrs. Augusta Buckingham, Ft. Atkinson; and three brothers, Earl, Clarence, and Walter, all of Ft. Atkinson. He was a lifetime resident of the Jefferson county area and operated a farm at the time of his death.

Portage, died Monday in a Madison hospital to which he was admitted Nov. 19. Funeral arrangements were to be made at the LakeThornburg funeral home, Prairie du Chien. EVANSVILLE Mrs. Moore, 83, Evansville, who would have observed her 84th birthday today, died Monday in a Janesville nursing home.

The former Lula a Babcock, she was daughter of the late Mr. Mrs. Alfred Babcock, and born in 1880 at Walla Walla, Wash. The family moved to Evansville vicinity when she was young woman. She was married in 1901 to Guy Moore of Evansville, and they farmed in this area until death in 1938.

Surviving are two sons, Leonard, Palos Park, and Walter, Crivitz, Marinette county; two daughters, Mrs. James Carroll, Albany, and Mrs. Sidney Smith, Janesville; 14 grandchil-1420 dren, and 12 great-grandchldren. Friends may call at the Allen funeral home, Evansville, from 7 p. m.
