1 to n'om -voUVi-ioT HERSEY, Wis. Frank Hathaway, Hersey, announced today that he will be a candidate for the Progressive nomination for assemblyman from St. Croix county. Mr. Hathaway will seek the seat formerly held by the late Assemblyman Arthur of Hudson.

The Woodville Leader for several months has been printing a political column by Mr. Hathaway in which NYA Committee Adopts Plans for I5odv Build- ing Program Plans to put Into effect immediately in Wisconsin the National Youth Administration's program of body building and health conditioning were adopted here today by the state committee. The committee met at the WPA recreational headquarters cn S. Carroll st. Physical examinations of the youths by community physicians will be the first step.

Then they will be classified as to condition and the sports from which they would derive benefit. Meanwhile district supervisors and leaders will be chosen and will be trained to teach calisthenics, games and other exercises. The program will be launched a once in 15 communities and later will be extended to include 81 projects. First centers will be at Antigo, La Crosse, Marinette, Menomonie, Prairie Du Chien, Platteville, Racine, Rhinelander, Rice Lake. The unfortunate accident which led to his death occurred in February of 1939 at St. Paul, Minnesota as he was nearing the height of a brilliant skiing career. In memorium this plaque is dedicated to Paul Bietila by his fellow members of the class of 1940. in a ski accident at St. Paul, in February, 1959.

Following is the message on the plaque: 'Paul Bietila vas a member of the University of Wisconsin class of 1941) and an outstanding American ski champion. As a member of the Hoofer's club he contributed more than -any other student to the advancement of skiing at the university. 'Paul Bietila, an earnest and sincere student, modestly partook of the Two members of the 1940 graduating class of the University of Wisconsin, Miss Frances Kelly, Milwaukee, and George Robbins, president of the class, view' with pride the senior class gift to the university, announced at the 87th commencement exercises held last week. Straus is being urged by the Citizens Candidate committee to run for the state assembly from Madison on the Progressive ticket, a spokesman for the committee said today. Straus has not yet agreed to become a candidate, according to the committee. In the April city election. Straus received a large number of votes in a write-in campaign for mayor, although he had not announced himself as a candidate. The campaign to elect Straus mayor was conducted by the Citizens Candidate committee, composed of representatives of labor and liberal groups in Madison.

William Patten Services Are Held at Boscohcl OK Milwaukee Rd Move of Depot at Sauk City The state public service commission Monday authorized the Milwaukee road to move its Sauk City depot from its present site to a new location east of Helen st. and south of Webster st.

The road had been authorized by an interstate commerce commission order of May 12 to abandon its branch line from Sauk City through Prairie du Sac. a distance of 1 mile. Inasmuch as the railroad will no longer serve the village of Prairie du Sac which Is contiguous to Sauk City, the new depot will be used by railroad patrons of both villages, the state commission said.
