The turning point arrived Saturday as the frank questions were put to the survivors of what they will do and where they will live. The Red designed modest homes of 2 Cross. rooms and called upon the works division of FERA to build them.

Lumber was taken to the first site of a new house near here but was brought back because the family had not decided how close to the river 1 it wants to live. repair work and reconstruction Cieneral however, gathered speed. Local labor was recruited as far as possible. Relief officials warned outsiders not to come in search of work. Rowland Haynes, disaster relief coordinator, estimated 1,600 non-victims were plowing furrows for replanting stricken families and communities.

This figure did not include 2,000 railroad repairmen and more than 500 highway workers. -Missouri Faces New Flood ST. crest of the Missouri river's second most disastrous overflow in history passed into the Mississippi here Saturday night as a new but probably trivial flood menace lurked in its tributaries. The Missouri still measured five miles across in places but danger of further wholesale inundation was passed, government forecasters here said. Unofficial estimates of flood damage in Nebraska, Colorado, and Missouri were fixed at $41,000,000 and indications were the loss would go higher.

A preliminary survey even, the original loss estimate of $15,000,000 for Missouri appear inadequate. The waters of Big and Little Cabin creeks and Bill creek, which passed into the Grand river, which in turn threatened dwellers along its valley. A new rise was coming down the flooded Osage river in Missouri from Kansas, and forecasters predicted "very. high stages" for the next few days, probably equal to this week's crests. Because the "big" inundation was expected by Forecaster Roscoe Nunn.

Virtually every major levee on the lower Missouri was battered down by the flood waters, which coursed over the once fertile St. Louis-St. Charles county bottoms to a depth of several feet. Mrs. Amynte Storandt To Be Buried Monday Funeral services will be held Monday, at 2:30 p.

The exterior. construction is of solid the roofing, hand split shingles, and the porch, fireplace and tower, stone of that locality. State Recovery Rapid, Power Use Indicates Factory, Shop Use Only Under 1929, Peak Year Wisconsin business and industry took long strides toward recovery during 1934 and the first three months this year, a study of electric use just completed by the state public service commission's rates and research department indicated Saturday. The study also showed improvement in the general economic condition of Wisconsin citizens. Power Use Rises Revealed by the commission's research were these facts: Factory and shop power use in 1934 averaged within 20 per cent of that in 1929, last boom year. All classes of customers of the state's 15 largest electric utilities increased their use of electricity substantially in 1934 and in three months of 1935.

Average home use in Wisconsin reached a new high mark in 1934 of 634 kilowatt hours per family, 7 hours above the national average, compared with 576 hours in 1933 or 24 hours below the 1933 national average. Wisconsin home users in 1934 got their electricity average rate of 4.85 cents "per" kilowatt hour or nearly a half cent lower than the 5.27 cent national average and paid $30.70 on the average for their year's electricity. During 1934 gains in electric use over 1933 per, customer, per cent for residential users, 10.6 per cent for store and office consumers, 13.6 per cent for factory and shop power customers, and 7 per cent by farm customers. Home Use Up In the first three months this year gains reported by eight large electric utilities above the same period in 1934 were 6.1 per cent for home users, ter work of this almost hand made religious home. The dedication plans await the return of Father Charles Mansfield, Superior of the Camillian Order in this country, from Germany where he has been since February.

Meanwhile the work is hurried forward here that soon the novices may come here to study and the bell in the tower may peal out the Angelus hours. Reminiscent of the catacombs in old Grecian days when followers of Christ were forbidden to use His name, is the insignia on the tower. It resmbles the initials "P-X" as though they were interlapping and forms the Christian sign used in the olden days.
