Catherine was born on Dec.

1, 1973, in Dubuque, lowa, daughter of Ronald and Margaret Louise (Long) Ties. Cathy graduated from Hempstead High School in 1992, and Northeast lowa Community College in 1996. married Jay Brittan on May 15, 1998, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peosta, lowa. Cathy was employed at Chase Bank and Ponderosa Steak House, both in Janesville.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Edgerton. Cathy was a Girl Scouts leader and enjoyed spending time with her children. Survivors include her husband, Jay A. Brittan of Edgerton; two daughters, Marissa and Olivia; her parents, Ronald and Margaret Ties of Graf, lowa; three brothers, Ron (Regina) Ties of Topeka, Brian (Kathryn) Ties of Dubuque, lowa, and Michael (fiancee, Molly Kuepers) Ties of Dubuque, lowa; her mother-in-law, Pam McGraw (Fred Koch); her father-in-law, Tom (Marcia) Brittan of Renville, five sisters-in-law, Sue (Alex) Luciano, Vicky (Jon) Zak, Trac Rasmus, Jodie Brittan and Shawna Brittan; a brother-in-law, Bill (Danielle) Barthen; three godchildren, Carter and Paige Reynolds, and Hannah Zak; three nieces and five nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her best friend, Natalie Reynolds of Dubuque, lowa.

Christine Louise Bohlin Kubicek, who preferred to be known as "just Chris," passed away on Aug. 14, 2009, after a brave battle with cancer. Chris was born on Feb.

16, 1953, in Louisville, Ky. She elementary school in Westfield. N.Y.: she then attended middle school in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Lyons Township High School in La Grange, in 1971. She graduated from Northern University with a degree in special education in 1976. Chris moved to Mineral Point in 1980 and took a job with the Hodan Center as a client advocate for the disabled.

She later worked for Unified Counseling for more than nine years. In Mineral Point she met her true love, Bob Kubicek. They were married on July 11, 1986. Chris was an accomplished artist who loved her home, dogs and cats, collecting, her garden, the hundreds of birds that visited her feeders, her husband Bob and especially her granddaughter Zoe. Chris is by her husband, Bob; stepdaughter, Molly (Travis) Howard; and granddaughter, Zoe of Bradenton, mother, Jean Bohlin of Mineral Point; brother, Guy (Rhea) Bohlin of Washougal, nieces, Rebecca and Sarah Bohlin of Portland, and sister, Leslie Bohlin of Mineral Point.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bert Bohlin. Burial Services will be private. Lueders, Parry Frank jensenfuneralandcremation.com Peeper, Vern Waldemar A COLUMBUS Parry Frank Lueders, age 59, died on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at the Columbus Community Hospital, surrounded by his family and many loving caregivers.

Parry was born Nov. 15, 1949, in Columbus to Frank and Nan (Owen) Lueders. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1968. Parry joined the Army in 1969, which included service to his country in Vietnam. He received his bachelor's of science in 1979 from UW-Oshkosh.

Parry then served as a civil servant in the Department of Corrections. After years spent as a corrections officer and a probation and parole agent, he retired, because of diabetes, in 1997, as a classification specialist at the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun. He was a respected member of the assessment and evaluation team. His good humor helped the entire unit handle the stress of their work. Survivors include his brother, Randy (Kate); brother, Fred (Cailin), all of Columbus; sister, Amy (Richard) Sullivan; niece, Martha (Regan) Rule; great-niece, Maddie Rule; great-nephew, Ryan Rule; nephew, Owen Lueders; niece, Claire Lueders; and his great friend, Tim Hoffman and his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, in April 1999; and by his dear mother, Nan, in June of this year. At Parry's request, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held. Memorials may be directed to the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation. We are grateful for your love and humor.

Jensen Funeral Cremation Columbus (920) 623-5850 PA BEAVER FALL RIVER Vern Waldemar Peeper, age 86, formerly of Fall River, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Golden Living Care Center in Beaver Dam. Vern was born on Dec. 13, 1922, in Columbus, the son of Waldemar and Amelia (nee Hummel) Peeper. He was united in marriage lone Orvilla Kvarme on Sept.

22, 1946, in Chatfield, Minn. Vern honorably served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was an active member of the Fall River VFW Post 2219 and the American Legion in Columbus. Vern and his wife initially farmed on Highway CD near Fall River for Carl Fredrick.

When that farm was sold they moved to Highway near South Beaver Dam. In 1959 they purchased their farm on State Highway 146 near Fall River and lived there until they retired. In addition to farming, Vern worked for more than 30 years at the Kirsh Foundry in Beaver Dam. Both Vern and his late wife lone retired to Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam in September 2008. He is survived by his son, Carroll (Marjorie Grady) Peeper of Sun Prairie: grandchildren, Craig (Evelyn) Peeper of Kirkland, and Lynne Peeper of Sun Prairie: two Lillian and Grady of Kirkland, sister.

Sam Poser and his staff, and the staff at the Golden Living Center for their loving care of Vern and his family. Pirkel, Joyce E. DANE. Joyce Pirkel, age 69, of Dane, passed away at the Baraboo Hospice, House on Saturday, Aug. after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joyce was born on July 22, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Albert and Elsie (Gronke) Pirkel. The family later moved to Sun Prairie, where Joyce spent the majority of her childhood. Joyce graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1958. She was then employed by Red Dot and later by Dane Manufacturing, where she worked for more than 20 years. Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was a tremendous animal lover.

She took great pride in the animals that lived on her farm over the years, and most recently had three "kitties" that watched and protected her while at home. Joyce is survived by her nephews, Scott Pirkel of Madison, and Bruce Pirkel of Appleton. She is also survived by her nieces, Cheryl (Pirkel) Reese of Lodi, Sue Pirkel of Blue Mounds, and Cynthia (Pirkel) Murphree of Sun Prairie. Joyce also has many loving great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Pirkel, Hank (Doris) Pirkel and Bob (Jo) Pirkel; a nephew, Tim Pirkel; and a niece, Theresa (Pirkel) Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009. Visitation will be held at funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

18, 2009, at Autumn Winds, in Cambridge. Robert was born in London, on Jan. 29, 1923, the son of Lloyd and Gertrude (Rieff) Scott. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1940, and attended UWWhitewater. He served his country in the U.S.

Army, and then farmed on edge of Cambridge for 62 years. On Sept. 18, 1943, Robert married Pauline Christensen at St. James Lutheran Church in Cambridge. He was a former 4-H leader and a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, and currently was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are wife, Pauline Scott; son, Richard (Jean) Scott; daughter, Christine (Kristopher) Frey, all of Cambridge; granddaughter, Mandy (Tony) Buonincontro of Fort Atkinson; grandson, Jamey (Bridgette) Scott of Cambridge; grandson, Corey (fiancee, Kristin Gillitzer) Scott of La Crosse; grandson, Mitch Frey of Cambridge; granddaughter, Karly Frey of Cambridge: great-granddaughters, Madalyn, Malorri and Maycie Buonincontro; sister, Eileen Scott of Cambridge; sister-in-law, Renelva George, Utah; and other relatives and friends. She was born in Prairie du Chien on April 28, 1935, the daughter of Delford H. L. (Tippery) Pitzer. She graduated from Blackhawk Technical College and was retired from the Wisconsin State Rock Prairie United Presbyterian Lottery. Joyce was a member of Church.

She is survived by her four children, Eva (Mike) Kohls of Helen (Bob) Simon of Janesville, Bob Stluka of Janesville, and Jim Gillingham of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Delford Pitzer of Wauzeka; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dick Stluka; a grandson, Brian Kohls; and two sisters, Betty Lou Fisher and du Beatrice Pitzer. Hiesiger, Cecelia MADISON Cecelia Hiesiger, age 91, died Aug. 8, 2009, at University Hospital of complications after a fall in her apartment. She will be deeply missed by her Madison and extended family and friends.

Cecelia was the consummate New Yorker. She was born there, the daughter of Charles M. and Julia (Moskowitz) Hiesiger, was educated in the city's public schools, and after graduation from New York University she worked in the family real estate business for most of her career. She had a lifelong love of theater, music, dance and the visual arts; and she was able to partake of the bountiful cultural feast that her city provided. Her closest friends were people involved, on stage and behind the scenes, of the Broadway and off Broadway theater.

Cecelia moved to Westchester, County, antiques N.Y., shop. where In 1992, she moved to Madison to be closer to her sister Rhoda and her brother-in-law David Berman and their family. Her apartment walls were decorated with her collection of modern paintings and she was able to share the pleasure of attending performances at concerts and plays with her family. In 1998, the deterioration of her vision, caused by macular degeneration, led her to move to Capitol Lakes. She was able to maintain her independence in her own apartment with the assistance and loving care of her aides.

Her family expresses their special thanks to her personal physician, Dr. Lorna Belsky, the medical and nursing staffs of University Hospital and Clinics and to Jewish Social Services. (nee Wedl) MADISON Margaret G. (nee Wedl) Kelley, age 91, died on Sunday, 16, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on Dec.

31, 1917, in Jefferson, and has spent most of her adult life as a Madison resident. Margaret worked at Rayovac and provided care for her children as well as neighborhood children in her home. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

She married William W. Kelley on Nov. 15.1947, in Madison. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and never forgot a birthday. She enjoyed her last 10 years with her dear friends at her senior apartment complex.

Margaret is survived by her children, Ronald (Mary Jane) Kelley of Madison, and Janet (Leland) Hack of Stoughton; grandchildren, Myrna, Tina and Bill Hack, Bryan and Brittany Kelley, and John, Richard and James Haight; great-grandchildren, Morgan and J.T.; brothers, Carl (Betty) Wedl, Jerome Wedl and Raymond (Jane) Wedl, all of Jefferson: sister-in-law, Leona Wedl of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. in Concordia, the daughter of Conrad A. and Eva M. (Hess) Bache. She was a graduate from Belleville High School in Belleville, Kan. She married Richard L.

Sheard on Aug. 16, 1930. The couple moved to Columbus in 1939 where he began his practice as a osteopathic physician. The couple divorced in 1984. He died in 1987.

Margaret was co-founder of the family mail order company, Sheard Science Supplies, which provided chemicals and laboratory supplies for science hobbyists. The business began in the basement of the family home at 251 W. James St. in Columbus. It grew to become Columbus Chemical Industries, in which she served as corporate treasurer from 1979 until 2003.

She was also active in various civic and school organizations holding offices in most. She was a charter member of Columbus Fall River Area Business and Professional Women's Club, "Columbus Parent Teachers Association, Band Mothers, Girl and Boy Scouts, and served terms as secretary for the Columbus 4th of July Organization. She and the late Norma McNulty founded the first Senior Girl Scouts troop in Columbus. Margaret was active in school activities a as her children grew up going through the school I years. She was a member of St.

Jerome's Catholic Church. Margaret a photojournalist for the Wisconsin State Journal and area newspapers, doing her own photographic work. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. Her parents owned and operated Belleville Creamery in Belleville, from 1920 to 1942 after which they retired to Burbank, Calif. Margaret will best be remembered for her half-hour radio news program "Columbus Fall River Party Line" which she hosted for 25 years.

It brought the area daily reports on city council, school board, police and fire activities. Still it had the "feeling of over the backyard fence" talk. Lost dogs a and cats were claimed and people looked forward to hearing the latest on area happenings. Survivors include five children, Cecelia (Norbert) Link, Barbara Fellah, Leonard (Mary) Sheard, Richard Sheard and Edward (Colleen) Sheard; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Cecelia Dawson of Van Nuys, Bernice Preston of Houston, Texas, and Eva Christy of Anthony, Kan.

Yuska, Reynold J. NEW YORK Born Oct. 1, 1947, Reynold died after a prolonged illness Saturday, Aug. 15, .2009. Rey attended Richmond Hill High School, then Ithaca College and Long Island University.

Throughout his life he worked as a librarian, and as a teacher for New York City Public Schools. He loved Long Island with its beaches, bays and fishing. Rey was loved as a kind, gentle soul was always available to share events of the day, to listen, to add color and enthusiasm to social discourse. The son of Henry and Lillian Yuska, Reynold is survived by Ken and Ginny Yuska of Madison; Donna McArdle of Browns Mills, N.J. Rey loved his many nieces, nephews and their children.

A Funeral Mass will by held at Holy Child Jesus Church in Richmond Hills, N.Y., Saturday. Aug. 22, 2009. Rey will be missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
