Lois was born on July 23, 1933.1 to Romeo and Louise (Ingebrigtson) Seegler in La Crosse. She married Harold Fortney on June 6, 1956, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City.

Together they owned and operated Prairie Corners Tavern, The Bronco Inn, The Teen Center and Tri-State Music specializing in vending and amusement games. They retired in 1984, just in time to spoil their grandchildren, who were always perfect angels in grandma's eyes. She will be remembered for her love of country music, collecting recipes and traveling. She especially enjoyed their trips to Nashville and meeting many country stars. Lois and Harold enjoyed "collecting" cars and going to car shows with the Southwest Wisconsin Car Club.

Also, she loved her weekly "hair day" followed by shopping and eating at their special corner table at the Elmo Club. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Lois is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter, Nila (Bill) Wallenhorst-Ingram of Cuba City; four grandchildren, Derek, Danielle, Kaitlyn and Nathan Wallenhorst; a sister, Angie (Phillip) Poller of Cuba City; brother-in-law. Don Manary; and nephew, Todd Manary and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Elaine Manary.

Services will be 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the HAUDENSHIELD FUNERAL HOME CREMATION SERVICES in Cuba City. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be at a later date.

For most of her life Alice was a travel agent for Koepcke Travel in Madison. She passionately devoted herself to serving every traveler's wish. To her brother, Gunder she gives her eternal love and attention with many hugs and kisses. her nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, she thanks them happy days they brought to her life. Alice was God's special gift to the Lundey family.

HIGHLAND Thomas P. McGuire, age 73, of Highland, died unexpectedly on. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on Sept. 18, 1935, in Highland, the son of the late Robert and Frances (Pustina) McGuire.

He graduated from Highland High School in 1953. He married Jeanne L. Pearson on Aug. 5, 1967. Tom spent 50 years in the plumbing and heating business and the last 45 years as master plumber.

He worked the last 18 years with Benjamin Plumbing, where he retired in 2003. He cherished spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandsons. died on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg. He was born on Nov. 10, 1914, to Gottlieb and Mathilde (nee Levy) Schwarz in Soetern, Germany. His family soon moved to Illingen, Germany, where he was raised and educated.

Although the grandson of a Franco-Prussian War veteran and the son of a fallen World War I veteran, when faced with the rise of Nazism in Germany, he urgently sought to leave his country of origin. He first escaped to Brazil where he remained illegally for two years before he was able to immigrate lawfully to the United States. He proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1943. Werner met his future wife, Henny (nee Kotler) in New York City, shortly after his arrival.

They were married on March 29, 1942. Within a year of their marriage, he was inducted into the U.S. Army, where his service included the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of Saint Lo, and the Battle of the Bulge. After returning home, he worked for many years managing a series of hardware and home improvement stores the New York City area. Once retired, he and Henny moved to Madison, a place they have both thoroughly loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister; and is survived by his wife, Henny; daughter, Leslie (Seth) Perelman of Verona; and granddaughters, Elisheva (Steven Dale) Perelman of Oakland, and Abigayl Perelman of Tuscaloosa, Ala. "Jack" Williams, age 91, died on Tuesday, July 7,2009, at his home. Jack was born on Feb. 11, 1918, at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Walter J. Huntley, an American citizen, and Johanna Schwartzenberger Huntley. He moved to the United States at the age of 3 months.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War I1, retiring after 22 years. He then served as a veterans service officer for Dane County, retiring in 1984. He married Gretchen "Peggy" Rank on July 13, 1948. Together they had five children and enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

He was a member of the Elks Club Chapter 1414, Panama and the Historical Society of Wisconsin. He was a lifetime member of the Olbrich Botanical Society, Olbrich Circle, and a friend of Wisconsin Public Television. He was a charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison. He is survived by his wife, Peggy: children, Jeffrey (Cyndy), Marilyn (Joe Lipinski), Thomas (Joanne) and Patricia (Chris Howard); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A BROOKLYN Lawrence D. Wunschel, age 67, of Brooklyn, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Oregon Manor following a two-year battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Wunschel of Brooklyn; three children, Brenda Wunschel of West Allis, L. Dwayne (Karen) of Menomonee Falls, and Steven (Debbie) of Ocono-mowoc; five grandchildren, Kylee, Kelci, Trevor, Payton and Jared Wunschel; his mother, Marie Wunschel of Monroe; a sister, Helen Behring of Orangeville, five brothers, Bob (Nancy) of Juda, Walter S. of Janesville, William (Astrid) and Richard (Marcia) all of Monroe, and Donald (Jennifer) of Juda; and three godchildren, Randy Behring, Amy King and Jennifer Greil.

Carlos A. Mitchell, 21, was charged with firstdegree reckless injury and possession of a firearm by someone considered delinquent a reference to a previous conviction in juvenile court for allegedly shooting Carl J. Bias Jr.

twice during a fight near the intersection of Swanton Road and North Thompson Drive. According to a criminal complaint, Bias told police that Mitchell spotted him at a bus stop while driving by, yelled at him, then parked his car and started to fight with Bias. After struggling on the ground, the complaint states, Mitchell got up, pulled out a revolver and shot Bias twice. Despite the shots, the two fought again a short time later outside the Citgo gas station in the 4900 block of Commercial Avenue, a short distance away. Mitchell told police that even though he had fired twice at Bias, he didn't believe the shots had any effect on him, the complaint states.

X-rays revealed two bullets in Bias' chest and shoulder, which will require surgery to remove, the complaint states. Mitchell was jailed on $3,000 bail. Knife attack lands man in prison. A knife attack at a town of Madison apartment will send a Madison man to prison for five years. Tracey L.

Wilson, 25, who pleaded no contest in May to first -degree reckless injury and armed robbery, will also spend eight years on extended supervision, Circuit Judge Daniel Moser said. The prison sentence will be added to a three -year prison sentence Wilson is currently serving for a 2004 armed robbery, which started after his probation for that conviction was revoked in March. Wilson and his thengirlfriend, Crystal A. Mathis, 27, attacked Sebastian C. Taylor in the bathroom of an apartment on Pheasant Ridge Trail on Dec.
