He was born on March 11, 1951, in Madison, a son of Harold Francis and Velma (Knipfer) Ethridge. Jeff graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1969. He was united in marriage to Suzanne Schlosser on Aug. 31, 1973, in Madison.

Jeff was with the Boiler Makers Union No. 107 for 25 years. He owned and operated Badger Mobile Welding. Jeff also worked at Industries and Latitude Corp. He was a member of the Skydiv-er's of 7 Hills Skydiving Club, Elk's Club, and the Cribbage Club at the VFW.

Jeff enjoyed many a brew at Joker Club, Mare Bears Kozy Inn and the Packer Inn. He liked fishing, cooking, and campfires. Jeff is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his daughter, Kathy Ethridge (fiancee, Michael McComb), a granddaughter, Najae; a grandson, Michael; a future grandson, Trevon; two sisters, Lori Ethridge and Kristi Ethridge; two brothers, Charlie (Patty) Ethridge and Dennis Knipfer; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. He was preceded to Heaven by his son, Scott Ethridge; his parents; and his grandparents, Cecil and Kathryn Ethridge and Steril and Lucille Knipfer. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona at 7:30 p.m.

"Steve" Foye, age 68, of Arena, died on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born on Dec. 30, 1937, to Ronald and Grace Foye.

He graduated from Arena Union Free High School in 1955. In 1957, Steve went into the Army as a M.P. and served in Germany until 1960. Steve worked many jobs over the years. He hauled mail for Madison Transit Company, was an Iowa County Deputy, Village of Arena Police Ofi icer and he also worked for the Village of Arena, until he retired in 2001.

Steve worked for P.H. Selly managing the mail trucks and routes in the Arena area until his death. He also drove school bus in the River Valley School District from 1962 until June 2006. Steve was a very active member in the Arena Community and Iowa County, serving on many boards including Commissions of Wisconsin River Rails, Iowa County Board Supervisor where he also served a year as co-chairman, three years as Village of Arena President and the Tri County Airport Committee. Steve was a volunteer for the Arena Fire Department for 50 years, a member of the Arena V.F.W.

Post No. 9336 and a long time member of the Arena Congregational Church. Survivors include his ex-wife and friend, Grace (Don) Brockmann; children, Debbie (Terry) Meise of Tempe, Kim (Kelly) White of Arena, Steve Jr. (Diana) Foye of Arena and Susan (Mike) Roen of Dodgeville; his wife, Randine Foye of 16 years; her children, Todd (Angie) Clary of Lone Rock, Trent (Val) Clary of Arena and Tricia Clary of Richland Center; a sister, Joan (Dick) Cur-tin of Madison; a sister-in-law, Gail Foye of Madison; mother-in-law, Rosemary Olson of Verona; brothers-in-law, Tom Griffin and John (Darlene) Griffin; sisters-in-law, Susan (Brent) Duhr, Wendy Stanford and Jean (Mike) Jones; grandchildren, Tonya, TJ, Jamie, Jessica, Steve III, Frank (Erin), Jerrod, Danny, Brett, Amber, Kayla, Deryk, Dyl-lan, Shannon, Meghan and Cait-lin; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Cassie and Olivia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Steve was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was an unselfish man who loved his wife, family, friends, and community. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at the ARENA CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH at 11 a.m.

She was born on May i 19, 1952, in Hillsdale, Michi- gan, the daughter of Mike and Julianna (Csatari) Budoso. Vio-' let graduated from Ball State University in 1974, with a bach- elor's degree in teaching. She -i taught at Leo Elementary School in Leo, Indiana. Violet worked I for 17 years at Land's End, most recently as Learning and Devel- opment Senior Coordinator. She was a courageous adventurer with a variety of interests including kayaking and cross country skiing.

Violet was also a nature enthusiast with a love of I i birds and an avid photographer. She is survived by her mother, Julianna Budoso of Auburn, In-' diana; and a sister, Agnes Bu- doso of Ft. Her father's family in Ne-koosa raised her after the untimely death of her mother. She came to Madison to live with an aunt in 1935. On Feb. 19, 1938, Clara married Frank M. Dvorak and together, they raised three daughters.

Clara worked for a few years at Montgomery Ward in Madison, after which she worked 21 years at Central Wisconsin Center, retiring in 1979. After retiring, Frank and Clara spent 19 wonderful winters in Harlingen, Texas. They also enjoyed many years of traveling, both in the U.S. and abroad. Frank and Clara together enjoyed square dancing with the Westport Squares for many years, which included attending many square dance conventions in Wisconsin and throughout the United States.

In 1997, they moved to Westshire Village in Waunakee and resided there until 2005, when Clara moved to Sylvan Crossing at Westshire. Clara is survived by her three daughters, Shirley Ewert, Karen (Curt) Shawkey and Betty Lou Albertson (Harold Beyer; six grandchildren, Jerry (Dee) Ewert, Kevin Ewert, Steve Ewert, Brad (JoEUen) Albertson, Kris (Jim) Dockter and Kathy (Bill) Miller; and seven greatgrandchildren, Courtney and Samantha Ewert, Jacob Ewert, Lauren, Nathan, and Megan Albertson and Cameron Miller; She is also survived by a sister, Opal Rude of Fort Atkinson; and an uncle, Ed (Mary) Ruder of Wisconsin Rapids. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2001; her parents; a brother, Charles; a granddaughter, Shelley Lyn Ewert; and sons-in-law, Bob Albertson and Gerald Ewert. (Hanley) MADISON Janice Elizabeth (Hanley) Kinzel passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Friday, July 28, 2006, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. She was born on Jan. 31, 1934, in Beloit, to Berwyn and Gladys Hanley. Jan graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in elementary education. On June 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ralph Clarence Kinzel in Birnamwood, by her grandfather, the Rev.

Carl Musall. They resided in Peshtigo for 34 years, where she taught third grade at Peshtigo Elementary School. The children she taught were a precious part of her life both in and outside of the classroom. She touched many lives with her quick wit, incredible sense of humor, and her enormous caring heart. Jan loved all games, was a "shark" of a bridge player, and was a gifted artist as well.

Her beautiful water color artwork is a wonderful remembrance of her creative spirit. Jan will be gready missed by her husband, Ralph; two sons, Timothy (Gail) Kinzel of Middleton and John (Chris) Kinzel of Wisconsin Rapids; a daughter, Elizabeth (Ed) Bates of Ligonier, 10 grandchildren, Sarah, Kyle, Joshua, Benjamin, Allison, Anna, Kristen, Jay, John, and Randy; and a great-grandson, Benjamin. They will always remember the many special times they shared with their Grandma. Her loving friends, who were as close as family to her, will also miss her dearly. A Celebration of Jan's Life will be held at ST.

Klotz, age 90, formerly of Prairie du Sac, died of natural causes at Lakeland Healthcare Center in Elkhorn on Thursday, July 27, 2006. Born in Iron River, on March 15, 1916, the fourth of five children of Arthur S. and Editha M.

(Gorske) Ames, the family returned to Oregon, the Ames ancestral nome, just prior to Ruth starting elementary school. She graduated from Oregon High School in 1933 and earned her R.N. degree from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1936. She married Myron G. Klotz on Nov.

Gross, age 80, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2006, at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Mary was born on Feb. 12, 1926, in Washington D.C. to Barney W. and Elizabeth G.

(Hyde) Williams. She grew up in Charles County, Maryland in the town of Indian Head. Mary attended the University of Maryland and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Mary met her husband, Joseph R. Gross, a World War II Marine Veteran.

They married on June 23, 1945, and relocated to his home in Madison. Mary took great pride in raising their family. When her children were older, she went to work for Remington Rand, and later with the American Breeders Service, where she retired as an executive secretary and made many good friends. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, bridge, golf, sewing and knitting, especially for her grandchildren. She was a terrific cook, and enjoyed her social groups.

One of her greatest pleasures was being a member of the John Bell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) where she held every office and served as a state officer. Mary was proud of her heritage, and enjoyed her family history and family tree, retracing her own roots and visiting family and friends. Mary is survived by her three children, Mary Jo (Gene) Thieleke, Gerald (Christine) Gross, and Patricia Gross; her grandchildren, Carolyn (Robert) Hurzeler, Margaret (Michael) Lamson, Kathleen Topp, Susanna Topp, Rebecca (Steven) Perkins, and Daniel Gross; "The Bradan, Connor, Marilyn, Christine, Tyler, Owen, Noah, Ian, and Lauren; a brother, Barney W. (Joan) Williams; and a sister, Carol E. Terry.

Jim was born on Sept. 18, 1916, in Hazel Green to Paul and Susan (Harvey) Kieslich. Jim married the former Loretta Farrey on Aug.t 24, 1935. Loretta preceded him in death on Sept.

26, 2001. His greatest joys were eating Loretta home cooking and spending time with his family. He was also preceded in death by, his parents; a son, Paul Kieslich on March 28, 1991; three brothers, Virgil, Harvey and Charles Kieslich; and a sister, Frieda Vick-ers. He was born on Dec. 10, 1921, to Josephine Desotell. Harry had not just an amazing connection with people, but with animals too. He was a dog lover and bird enthu-: siast.

He knew all types of dogs, and bird books were common place in his apartment. He always had the answer to any questions about animal training or care. Watching him train a dog was something to behold. How wonderful to leave your dog with him and return to find that an old dog had learned new tricks. Harry was patient and kind to all creatures.

For more than 20 years the light in Harry's life was Gladys Philippi, who proceeded him in death in January 2003. They celebrated each other with everyday; enjoying walks downtown, playing cards with friends, feeding the ducks at the Yahara River, and dancing at gatherings or the lobby of the capital center, where they lived. Above all else they simply enjoyed each others companionship. Harry's special bona with Gladys Philippi was not only a gift to her but also to her grandchildren and freat-grandchildren. He always ept them laughing with jokes, games, or doing back flips on demand.

He taught them to dance and play euchre. Most importantly he set an example for the girls; one that demonstrated how a man should love, honor and respect a woman and children. It was a lesson the irls were told repeatedly by leir grandmother to follow when searching for their own life partners. She always said, "I hope you find a man who will treat you as well as Harry treats me." He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Harry Is sur-.

vived by two sons, Larry and Farber, Carol A. MADISON Carol A. Farber, age 62, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2006, at Meriter Hospital, from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on March 8, 1944, in Madison, the daughter of Gary and Mary fGreen) Farber. Carol graduated from Madison West High School.

She worked for WPS For 31 years. Carol was a member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church. She had the gift of playing piano by ear and liked many types of music, especially Elvis. Carol enjoyed dancing and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Badgers fan. She is survived by two sisters, Donna (David) Van-Egeren of Janesville and Dorothy Kaether of Madison; two nephews, who have always been the "light of her life," Chad of California and Eric of Milwaukee; a niece, Jeanne (Steve) Shedivy of Minneapolis; a nephew, Bill (Cindy) Kaether of McFarland; loving God-child, Tammi Kauppinen; and a very special friend, Donna Bain-bridge, who have been angels in Carol's life.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, with the Rev. Shirley Funk and Chaplin Dick Horst presiding.

Goth, age 73, of Janesville, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at his home. He was born in Madison on Dec.

18, 1932, the son of Edwin and Eunice (Thomas) Goth and was a 1950 graduate of Madison Central High School. He then graduated from UW-Madison, in 1954, with a bachelor's degree in applied art. Rod served the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1957, stationed for the majority of time in Germany. He then returned to UW-Madison, in 1958, to study business and advertising.

Rod married Judith L. Hurley on June 28, 1958, in Madison. They moved to Janesville in 1960, when he took a position with the Janesville Gazette. He retired in 1993 after 33 years. Rod was a member of St.

Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Gazette's Quarter Century Club, and was a 4H leader. He loved to pencil sketch and was part of a stock car racing team during his college years. He is survived by his wife, Judy; four children, Brett (fiancee, Sue Nunn) Goth, Michael Goth, Erik SoAnna) Goth and Anthony oth, all of Janesville; and six grandchildren, Zachary,.
