Georgia graduated from, high school. She worked at a law firm and then at the law school in Indiana where she found the love of her life and married Attorney Lyle Strahan on April 27, 1965. They then moved to Madison where Georgia worked for the law offices of Lathrop and Clark from 1965 until 1997 when she retired. Georgia has lived in Dodgeville for the last year and a half. She is survived by a sister, Ada Whaley; two brothers, Robert (Marilyn) and Roscoe (Marjorie) Keller; two cousins, Marlene Wood and Daniel (Linda) Dolphin; and nieces and nephews.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Luther; and two sisters, Edna Spainhower and Lucille Ra-mage. He was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Madison to Cecile (Epstein) and Isadora Schuster.

Aaron graduated from Central High School in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater from 1943-1946. In September 1948 he married Shirley Mead in Madison. From 1951-1961 he owned and operated a furniture store in Mineral Point and later was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Madison until his retirement in 1984.

He was an avid golfer and he looked forward to many years of playing golf multiple times a week. Aaron was a member of Beth Israel Center. Aaron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley. He is also survived by bis sons, Mark (Mary) of West Bend, and Michael of Verona; and daughter, Michelle Cam of Verona. He had five grandchildren, Angela, Emily, Adam, Dustin and Jordan; and a great-grandson, Kevin.

Aaron was a warm and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by bis mother and father; and sister, Esther Shapiro. "Gen" JANESVILLE Genevieve A. "Gen" Slayton, age 76, a lifelong resident of Janesville, died on Monday, May 7, 2007, at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Janesville, on May 20, 1930, daughter of the late Clarence S. and Ellen E. (Mooney) Finley.

Gen graduated from Janesville rligh School in 1949 and later married Lyn-dahl "Lindy" Slayton at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Janesville on May 22, 1954. Gen was a member Celebrating 25 1 I i t. (608) 752-2444 Smeaton, Joy M1DDLETON Amy Allison Au-thier, known as Joy, was bom on the 4th of July, 1918, in Washington, D.C. Joy's father, George Au-thier, and her mother Nancy Russell Dunnigan were journalists.

Her father was a correspondent for a number of Midwest Newspapers and president of the National Press Club in 1923. Joy's childhood D.C. companions became treasured lifetime friends, mamtaining contact through correspondence and occasional visits through the years. In 1936 Joy enrolled in Milwaukee-Downer College, where she graduated with a degree in occupational therapy in 1940. Once again she developed lifelong and treasured friendships.

At a friend's wedding she met her future husband, Robert W. Smeaton, an electrical engineer, later employed by Allis-Chalm-ers in West Allis for many years. Joy accepted a diamond wedding ring on Christmas Day, 1940, and was married on Flag Day, June 14, 1941, at the Unitarian Church in Milwaukee. Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert. Joy is survived by her six children, Robert (Gillian) Smeaton, Amy (Jonathan Cook) Hendrick-son, Glenn (Diane) Smeaton, Carol (Allen) Hambrecht, Kathleen (Paul) King and George (Susan) Smeaton.

Tiffany, age 80, of Oregon, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May Continued on RigeA6 Maier, Samantha Kristine jPORTAGEV MARSHFIELD Samantha Kristine Maier, age 15, of Portage and Marshfield, was called home to her Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Saturday, May 5, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident. Samantha was born on Jan. 8, 1992, in Ocono-mowoc to Lawrence Frank and Karri Ann (Kaiser) Maier, She was baptized into the faith as an infant and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Samantha started her life with an orthopedic hip problem that shaped and strengthened her as a person.

However, the body cast and the surgeries over her young life did not hold her back. She loved physical activity including membership on the wrestling team and farm work that would shame an adult. Her time in a body cast lead to very strong hands and arms, and she was known to break off a key in a lock now and then. Samantha ran her own race in life and was a blessing to those around her. She spent many days cooking and baking with her Great Grandma Johnson.

Her cooking skills made her a food critic for her mother causing many laughs and some special memories for everyone. She loved her Gideon Bible collection and was one of few people who would truly welcome the Gideon weekends at church. She loved music by Good Charlotte and Fall Out Boy, green olives, pickles, uncooked spaghetti, steak and lobster. Her insight into why other children can be mean to another person with a disability was profound. Samantha loved her family and friends dearly.

Animals and every living thing regardless of size and shape were also her friends, even her cat who kept eating her clothing. Samantha is survived by her father, Larry Maier of Portage; her sister, Stephanie Maier of Portage; her maternal grandmother, Jane Kaiser of Pardeeville; her paternal grandfather, Gerry Maier of Delafield; her maternal great-grandmother, Signe Johnson of Portage; her aunt, Kim (Brett) Ingram of Evansville; her uncle, Jeff (Amy) Maier of Delafield; her aunt, Dr. Sue Maier (Todd Wiggins) of Shelbyville, her great-aunt, Janet Van Epps of Portage; her great-aunt, Karen Kaiser of Portage; her great-uncle, Donald (Barb) Kaiser of Portage; other near relatives and many close friends. Karri was born on April 12, 1969, to Robert A. and Jane E. Johnson) Kaiser in Portage. She was baptized into faith as an infant and knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Karri graduated from Portage High School and was an honors graduate of the Paramedic Program at Mid State Technical College.

She carried a national certification as a paramedic and was passionate about her work in the health care industry. She has also served as a firefighter and a clinical laboratory technician. Her goal was to continue her studies toward a nursing degree. She married Lawrence Frank Maier and the union was blessed with three children, Stephanie, Samantha and Brian. Karri and Larry were later divorced, but they never divorced themselves from their role as parents to their three children.

Karri is survived by her mother, Jane Kaiser of Pardeeville; her daughter, Stephanie Maier of Portage; her sister, Kim (Brett) Ingram of Evans-ville; her maternal grandmother, Signe Johnson of Portage; her aunt and godmother, Janet Van Epps of Portage; her aunt, Karen Kaiser of Portage; her uncle, Donald (Barb) Kaiser of Portage; her nephew, Logan D. Ingram of Evansville; her niece, Alexandra Jane Ingram of Evansville; other near relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kaiser; her maternal grandfather, Orton Johnson; and her paternal grandparents, Phil and Ellen Kaiser. Karri left this life in an automobile accident that also took the life of two of her children, Samantha Kristine Maier, age 15, and Brian Patrick Maier, age 12. Karri will Jive on as an organ and tis- Michel, Jeffrey David WAUNAKEE Jeffrey David Michel, age 54, went to be with His Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2007, in his home with his wife and daughter at his side. He had battled lung cancer for six months. Jeff was born on May 15, 1952, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Edward James and Marian Frances (Maxwell) Michel. He was a 1970 graduate of West Genesee Central High School in Camillus, N.Y., and a 1972 graduate of The State University of New York at Morrisville, with an associate of applied science degree in electrical technology. In 1976 he graduated from Parks College of St.

Louis University with a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical administration. Jeff worked as an electrician with his father in Syracuse and during college for Adams Electric Corporation in St. Louis. His work in the aviation field began in November 1976, as a station agent with Air Illinois. In September 1977, he worked as a customer service agent for Ozark Airlines in Waterloo and then in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and onto Madison.

In October 1986 Trans World Airlines acquired Ozark and Jeff continued until Aug. 1, 1990, when TWA service was terminated to the Dane County Regional Airport. In October 1990, Jeff worked as an electrician (his second occupation) with Portz Electric in DeForesL On Dec. 2, 1991, he accepted a position as customer service agent for Federal Express, advancing to courier in June 1992. In June 1993, he moved to night shift ramp agent, which put him back working directly with the aircraft operations associated with Federal Express.

Air-crafts were his love. Jeff married Janice Klimes Stone in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on May 10, 1986. He met Janice through a computer dating service in 1985. Jeff has been a regular attendee of High Point Church since 1986 and was involved in Barnabas Team and Marriage Enrichment Ministries. He enjoyed helping many friends with their remodeling projects and is known to cook a fantastic steak.

He also enjoyed planning family vacations. Jeff is survived by his wife, Janice of Waunakee; his daughter, Hollee Stone (Thomas) Mclnnis of Neenah; a granddaughter, Berkley Mclnnis; and his half-sister, Nancy Mason of Kissimmee, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his half-brother, Edward Daniel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at HIGH POINT CHURCH, 7702 Old Sauk Road, Madison.
