Edward Mueller, retired Optometrist of Monroe; two sons. Dr. Peter E. (Vickie) Mueller of Monroe and Paul E. Mueller of St.

Paul, Minnesota; four grandsons, Scott, Mark and Nicholas Mueller of Monroe and Michael Mueller of St. Paul, Minnesota; two sisters-in law, Zill Stansel of Rulville, Missouri and Carla Tschudy of Westminster, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene E. Stansel and a sister, Bessie Mae McMahon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at 11:00 a.m.

at ST. JOHNS UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Monore with Reverend William T. Mike Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe with a Lunch to follow at St. John's Fellowship Hall.

Richard, who earns $68,412 and oversees a staff of 11, joined the Senate Democrats as their political director in November 1995 and helped the Democrats win control of the Wisconsin Senate twice. Neither has announced their new jobs but neither were tired said leaders from both legislative houses. Andy Cohn, the executive assist ant to Attorney General James Doyle, is also leaving.

"(Richard) put us in a real solid position and, in my view, she's one of the top political people in this state," said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Chvala, D-Madison. "We'll miss her." Lund, who was hired earlier this year, is leaving to seek other opportunities in private business.

"She is definitely leaving on her own. I think she's just had enough (of politics)," said George Twigg, a caucus spokesman. on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at the GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive. Lee, Lois E. PORT CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA-Lois E. Lee, age 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Monday, December 7, 1998 at her residence. She was born November 3, 1912 in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Charlotte County in 1976 from Madison, Wisconsin.

She was a retired Selective Service secretary for the State of Wisconsin. Member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. Survived by her husband of 61 years, William R. Lee of Port Charlotte; a son, Robert W. Lee of Waunakee, Wisconsin; a brother, Lloyd M.

McGraw of Scottsdale, Arizona; four granddaughters; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at the PORT CHARLOTTE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. Rev. I.

Mael, Beatrice L. MADISON Beatrice L. Mael, age 93, died Sunday, December 6, 1998 in a local nursing home. She was born January 16, 1905 in Platteville, the daughter of George Josephine (Hauge) Garvey. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at the Lakeview Sanitarium for over 30 years.

She was a member of Lakeview Lutheran Church. In July of 1941, she was united in marriage to Burdell "Bud" Mael in the Parents, staff complain of conditions Students with special educa tional needs aren't getting the services they're entitled to, regular students are being cheated out of their educations and teachers are under increasing physical danger due to poorly funded special education programs, dozens of parents and staff told the Madison School Board Monday. "It breaks my heart when often the majority of my time I need to be spending with a particular student who has special needs while another student struggles," said Rebecca Kane, a special education assistant at Cherokee Middle School. Most of the 38 speakers related stories of students whose individu alized educational plans called for intensive help, often one-on-one, but who rarely received it Board members were sympathetic and blamed the state for not fully reimbursing districts for fed Madison Deerfield Milwaukee Madison Madison Platteville Edgerton Madison Port Charlotte, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Duan (VanRixel) Gauger and his parents. Funeral services will be held at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, on Thursday, December 10, 1998 at 12:30 p.m. Reverend Mary Pharmer will officiate.

Burial will be held at the St. Mary of The Lake Cemetery in Westport. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a charity to be determined at a later date.

Galvin, David Richard MADISON David Richard Galvin, age 54, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 5, 1998. He was born on March 3, 1944 in Madison, the son of Richard and Eileen Galvin. David graduated from Deerfield High School in 1962. He was employed with the City of Madison for over 30 years working as manager of Hartmeyer Ice Arena for over 25 of those years. David was an avid sportsman, traveling all over North America.

He is survived by his parents; daughters, Wendy (Ken) Fennewald of Portage and Christina (Bart) Brandt of Johnson Creek; grandchildren, Curtis, David, Clinton and Amber Fennewald and Taylor and Lucas Brandt; a sister, Ann (Lt.Col. Joe) Montano of Sierra Vista, Arizona; brothers, Rodney (fiance Sally) Galvin of Amery, Daniel Galvin of Madison and Gary Hoffman of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Joe Montano III of Pueblo, Colorado; and other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre ceded in death by a sister, Wanda and a brother, Patrick. Funeral services will be held at GUNDER-SON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 1998.

PLATTEVILLE Mrs. Irvin (Mildred Johnsen, age 84, of Platteville, died Sunday, December 6, 1998 at her home. Mildred was born on August 3, 1914 in Platteville, the daughter of Ora and Isabel (Paulson) Roddick. She was married to Irvin Johnson on February 16, 1937 in Platteville. She and Irvin farmed near Platteville for 49 years and moved into town in 1986.

She was a long time member of the Lutheran Church of Peace and was very active in its quilting group. Mildred was an excellent cook and enjoyed doing needle-work. She is survived by her husband, Irvin Johnsen; a brother, Jack Roddick of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Clarence Roddick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.

on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF PEACE in Platteville, with the Reverend Mose Henney officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Platteville. Kimpel, Miona L. EDGERTON Miona (My) L. Kimpel, age 73, of Edgerton died on Sunday, December 6, 1998 in Edgerton. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at SAINT JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH in Edgerton.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the BRUNI-NYGAARD-WARD FUNERAL HOME in Edgerton. Krueger, Margaret F. "Peggy" MADISON Peggy Krueger, age 49, of Madison, died on Monday, December 7, 1998 in a local hospital.

She was born on November 20, 1949. Peggy enjoyed life to the fullest, even lfher last year was marred with medical and health problems. She had worked at St. Mary's Medical Center in the data processing department for 25 years. During her 25 years at St.

Mary's, she made a lot of friends. She also completed a degree in Computer Information Systems-Midrange Analyst Programmer at Madison Area Technical College. She enjoyed spending time with her little cocker spaniel, Buffy. Peggy often said "Buffy is one of the greatest friends in the world." She also liked to watch her two boys, Bryan and Scott, participate in athletic events, especially basketball and football. Peggv graduated from Whitewater High School in 1967.

She was a very active volunteer at Elvehiem elementary school, Sennett Middle School and Grant allows theater group to introduce students to drama Benish, Dr. George A. MADISON Dr. George Albert Benish died at home on Friday, December 4, 1998. Services were held Monday.

DEERFIELD Michael J. Bordson, age 26, of 302 Washburn Road, Deerfield died Sunday, December 6, 1998 as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born March 13, 1972 in Madison, the son of Ronald and Judy (Faust) Bordson. He married Wendy Roidt on August 6, 1994 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Edgerton. Michael lived his whole life in Deerfield and worked as a cement finisher for Middleton Construction. Michael loved to hunt, and was involved in 4H and F.F.A. He swam for eight years with the Madison East YMCA.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy of Deerfield; a son, Tyler at home; his father, Ronald of Deerfield; mother, Judy of Edgerton; two sisters, Mar-cie Minnameier of Edgerton, and Melissa Bordson of Edgerton; grandparents, Jack and Borgie Faust of Edgerton, and Aurelia Bordson of Madison; nephews, Kalen, Devon and niece and God daughter Kylie; father and mother-in-law, Tom Roidt of Montello and Judy Roidt of Cottage Grove; many aunts and uncles. He was preceded by his grandfather, Martin Bordson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton with Pastor Roy Poltrock officiating. She was born January 19, 1906 in Barneveld, Wisconsin, the daughter of William Henry Bunbury and Nellie (Bohen) Bunbury. Lenore graduated from Edgewood Academy in 1925. She was a Medical Records Administrator and Consultant in hospitals and nursing homes in Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit and Ohio. She had resided at the Marion Catholic Home in Milwaukee since 1989. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers. Grant, Harry and Raymond; and sisters, Myrlle Brunker and Helen McMahan. A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at the MARION CATHOLIC HOME CHAPEL at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, '1998. Burial will foil iow and will be at St.

Bridget's Cemetery in Ridgeway at approxi-mately 3:30 p.m. if id IA Gauger, Eberhard "Abe" MADISON Eberhard Gauger died Sunday, December 6, 1998 in the hospital after a brief and courageous fight with Leukemia. He was born January 11, 1925 in Zirkwitz, Kreis Greifenberg Pommer, Germany, the son of Conrad and Martha (Neidahl) Gauger. After immigrating to the United States, he grew up in the Milwaukee area where he developed an intense interest in learning, mechanical applications and skills to be a master carpenter. After being discharged from the Army, he started his own business as a builder, floor layer, finisher and carpenter and moved his business to Madison in 1959.

He worked at his business for over 20 years, until a health condition required a change. He started his second career at the Madison post office where he could use many of his building and woodworking skills on smaller projects allowing him to do the work he loved. She was born on October 3, 1918 to Albert and Charlotte (Vinev) Gage in the town of Oak- dale. She was united in marriage to Francis Ruland, on May 21, 1941 at St. James Catholic Church, Camp Douglas. She is survived by her husband, Francis; two Francis Jr. (Jean) of Warrens, Alois (Cheri) ot Chippewa Falls; three daughters, Karen (Jerry, Sr.) Holmes of DeFor-est, Rita (Robert) Uchvtil of Madi son, and Rose Marie (Hans) Gulick ot King George, Virginia; 13 grand-children: two ereat-erandchudren and a sister.

Slawek, Dorothea Frieda MADISON Dorothea Frieda (Mewesl Slawek, age 71, died peacefully at University Hospital on Monday, December 7, 1998. She was born on July 29, 1927 in Berlin, Germany.

Alter World War II she trained to be a draftsman, met and married Boleslaw Slawek, an American soldier stationed in Ber lin. She and Ben relocated to Madi son in 1952. Dorothea began her drafting career at Cohen Manufac turing. Beginning in 1965, she was employed at Ohio Medical Products where she became the company's first woman manager (Pipeline Planning section until her retire ment in 1989. She is survived by her daughters, Marlen George Bu chanan of Monona and Regina Dillard) Wever ot Phoenixville Pennsylvania; her son, Andrew Slawek of Madison; and a nephew, erzy Garml Brania ot Madison Dorothea leaves behind eight grandchildren and live great grand children.

Steinhart, Helen AVOCAMUSCODA Helen Stein hart, age 99, of Muscoda, formerly of Avoca, died on Sunday, December 6, 1998 at Riverdale HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 1, 1899 in the town of fulaski, the daughter ot Henry and Mary (Kratochwill) Steinhart.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She worked at the Avoca Battery Company during World War II. She provided day care for many families and did housework for many people for many years, bhe is. survived bv nieces and nephews, locally bv two nephews, Jim (Grace) McCormick of Avoca, and John McCormick of Muscoda; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Nowotnev: five sisters, Isa- belle Dav. Josephine Egan, Mabel Hennessey, Mayme Hennessey, and bdna McLormick. COBB Shannon P. McCue, age 28, died Sunday morning, December 6, 1998 at Memorial Hospital of Iowa County. He was born on May 18, 1970 in Janesville, the son of John and Suzanne (Conrad) McCue. Shannon married Kari Crull on July 8, 1995. Shannon graduated from Janesville High School in 1989, then attended South West Technical College where he received a degree in meat cutting.

Shannon worked for Walnut Hollow, New Providence farms and presently was employed at Nelson Muffle in Mineral Point. He was also a volunteer Fire Department Member of Cobb and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Kari of Cobb; his parents, John and Suzanne McCue of Janesville; two brothers, Dr. Shawn (Debbiel McCue of Janesville and Dr. Shea McCue of Janesville; mother and father-in-law, Garry and Karen Crull of Cobb; grandparents, Lucille McCue of Avon Park, Florida, Helen Conrad of Mukwonago, Wendell and Thelma Smith of Loves Park, Illinois and Lloyd and Florence Crull of Poplar Grove, Illinois; and a brother-in-law, Jeff (Amy) Crull of Tempe, Arizona.

Services will be held at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Milton at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 1998. Fr. Jim McEnery will officiate.

Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Janesville. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the SOMAN-LARSON FUNERAL HOME in Montfort and after 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday at the church in Milton. Mueller, Mrs. Ed (Anne) MONROE-Mrs. Ed (Anne) Mueller, age 83, of Monroe, died on Sunday, December 6, 1998 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on June 17, 1915 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Oscar and Mat-tie Mae (Afford) Stansel.

She attended Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Anne and Dr. Edward Mueller were married in Memphis, Tennessee on December American Players Theatre in Spring Green is an internationally acclaimed Shakespearian group.
