There is no charge for this service. We prefer, however, that you complete one of our forms. To request a form, call 252-6060 or write to: Couples, Wisconsin State Journal, P.O. Box 8058, Madison, WI 53708. Weddings: Your announcement must reach us within eight weeks after the ceremony for it to be accompanied by a story.

Announcements received after eight weeks will be announced in abbreviated form. Wedding announcements received more than six months after the ceremony will not be printed. Please remember that any information included on the announcement forms may be used to write your wedding story. Anniversaries: We publish news of wedding anniversaries from the 25th anniversary up. Photographs of the couple are used only for 50th wedding anniversaries and later.

Engagements: Brief engagement notices are published on Sundays. We do not print engagement photographs. We ask that forms be submitted as soon as possible after the engagement. We cannot publish announcements that arrive less than four weeks before the wedding date. Deadlines: Anniversary announcements for a particular Sunday paper (news of open houses or similar events, for example) must be received by noon the preceding Monday.

As for wedding and engagement announcements, space limitations may cause a delay in publication from the time the announcement is submitted. This is particularly true during summer and fall. Photos: Pictures are published for weddings and 50th-plus anniversaries. We suggest that you send photos of which you have duplicates, as the State Journal will not be held responsible for photos submitted. Please do not photos that cannot be replaced.

A week after your picture has appeared in the paper you may pick it up at the front desk at Madison Newspapers, 1901 Fish Hatchery Road. If you prefer that we return your photo by mail, include a selfaddressed, stamped envelope..
