Smith, 71, Janesville, died Sunday at a Janesville hospital. She was a resident of Madison from 1937 to 1947. Survivors include her husband, a son, Dr. John Smith, Janesville, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Owens, Clinton, 111., and Mrs.

Charles Van Blaricon, Frankfort, Ind. Services were to be held today at 2 p. m. at the Overton funeral home. Burial will be in Janesville.

Charles Schmidt BARABOO Relatives here have been notified of the death of Charles Schmidt, 79, at Cedar Falls, where both he and his wife have been residents of an Evangelical home for elderly people. For many years Mr. Schmidt operated a meat business in Bar-aboo and they moved from here to Neenah where they lived until Mrs.

Schmidt's failing health made it necessary for them to enter the Iowa home. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lena Sprech-er, Baraboo, and Mrs. Laura Jones, Washington, D. C.

Funeral services were to be held today at Menomonee Falls, Mrs. Schmidt's former home. On all 1948 Sport Styles Suffers Stroke at Age of 59 Mrs. Kathren Hilfert APPLETON (U.R) Mrs. Kathren Hilfert wife of an Appleton industrialist, died suddenly this morning at an Appleton hospital.

She was the wife of E. C. Hilfert, vice-president and general manager of the Riverside Paper and treasurer of the Apple-ton Building and Loan Co. Mrs. Hilfert was a lifelong resident of Appleton and was very active in civic affairs.

Survivors included her husband, four sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church. Mrs. William Draves RICHLAND CENTER Mrs.

William Draves, 66, died Tuesday at a Richland Center hospital of a heart ailment. She had been a patient since Friday. Until moving to Richland Center three years ago' Mr. and Mrs. Draves farmed on Pleasant Ridge.

She was the widow of Jacob Wagner and a life-long resident of the community. Survivors include four sons, Lloyd, William, Edward, and Jesse, all of Livingston; six daughters, Mrs. Raymond Lee and Mrs. Arthur Allen, both of Livingston, and Mrs. George Wisdom, Mrs.

John Miller, Mrs. Sherman Knutson, and Mrs. Walter Haney, all of Platteville; 51 grandchildren, and 53 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m.

Thursday in the Methodist church. The Rev. Glen Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Rock cemetery. Mrs.

Halvorsen Rites RIO Funeral services for Mrs. Theodore Halvorsen, 71, Rio farm wife, will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Thompson funeral chapel, Rio, and at 2:30 in the Rio Lutheran church. The Rev.

Edward Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Bonnett Prairie cemetery. Mrs. Halvorsen died Monday at her farm home near Rio. She was a lifelong resident of the community and was married here 50 years ago next month.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Amanda Newton and Mrs. William Pemberton, Milwaukee; Mrs. John Gassney, Waterloo, and Mrs. Francis Dowdell, Rio; a son, Alvin, Janesville, and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Cook Services PARDEVILLE Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Cook, 78, Pardeeville, will be held-at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Methodist church.

The Rev. Alma Huppert will officiate. Burial will be in Mar-cellon cemetery. Mrs. Cook died at her home LODI John M.

Scott, 76, a retired farmer who lived all his life in and near Lodi, died early this morning after a long illness. He was a native of Okee who farmed near there and moved to Lodi when he retired. Survivors include his wife, Cora; two brothers, Seth, Palouse, and Guy, Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Gilchrist, Beckley, W. and Mrs.

Reese Edwards, Oshkosh. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. nt Friday in the Presbyterian church, Lodi, the Rev. E. J.

Blair officiating. There will be Masonic rites. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery here. The body was taken to the Simon funeral home.

Mrs. George F. Kull, 59, of Vilas died today at a Madison hospital. Three years ago she suffered a stroke which left her a partial invalid. She suffered another stroke last Saturday.

Mrs. Kull was the wife of the secretary and manager of the Wisconsin Manufacturers assn. Born in Illinois Mrs. Kull, the former Charlotte Margaret Calvin, was born in Godfrey, 111. She came to Madison with her parents when she was a young girl.

She was educated in a Madison academy and attended the University of Wisconsin for a year but her education was interrupted by the death of her father. She taught kindergarten and pursued a secretarial course before establishing an interior orating business which was called "The Shop of Charlotte Calvin." She was married to Mr. Kull Feb. 15, 1922, in Madison. Survivors Listed Survivors are her husband, two daughters, Elsie Kull Kramer, Starsdale, N.

and Charlotte KulU Vaughan. Madison, and a son, Calvin Kull, Indianapolis, Ind. Private funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon in the Frautichi funeral home with the Rev. A. F.

Arthur Pearson, 51, resident of Waterloo for 22 years, died Tuesday at a Watertown hospital, where she had been confined for one week. Mrs. Pearson, whose maiden name was Irene De Marsh, was born in Menominee, Mich. She was a member of the St Paul's Lutheran church, and of the church's missionary society. Mrs.

Pearson was also an active member of the Royal Neighbor lodge. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Arthur, and Wallace, Waterloo; a daughter, Mrs. Elliot Brown, Port Washington; her mother, Mrs. Anna Bohnan, Marquette, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held D.
