Porter, 45, owner of Porter's Jewelry store who shot himself Monday will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday the Overton funeral home, Janesville. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Acting Columbia County Corruled his death suicide.

Riley, had been in ill health. Porter was shot fatally with a .32 caliber pistol in his store. He had operated the store for about eight years. His wife had died last summetirvivine. are two sons, Brevett and Stephen, both of Portage; his mother, Mrs.

George Porter, Janesville; a brother, Brevett, Beloit, and a sister, Mrs. Betty Mannberg, Janesville. Overhagen Rites WESTBY-Funeral services for Thorvald Overhagen, 86, Westby, who died at his home Saturday, were held Tuesday afternoon in Our Savior's, Lutheran church. The O. Paulsrud officiated.

Burial was in Our Savior's cemetery. Mr. Overhagen was born in the town of Christiana, Vernon County, and was a lifelong resident of the vicinity. Survivors include five sons, Albin and Lawrence, both of Westby; Tilmer, Glen Flora; Willie, Cameron, and Edwin, Sparta; a daughter, Mrs. Lindahl Doxrud, Sparta; 12 grandchildren; 15 brothers, great-grandchildren, and two Otto T.

Hagen, Westby, and Ole Torgerson, Aberdeen, S. D. Byron Jones Rites Funeral services for Byron Jones, 78, a resident of the county home since 1930 who died Monday in a Madison hospital after a long illness, will be held at 11 m. today in the FitchLawrence funeral home. The Rev.

Gosselin JANESVILLE-Mrs. Francis P. Gosselin, 78, former Janesville resident, died in a Monroe nursing home Sunday. Funeral services wil be held at 3 p.m. today in the RosmanUehling-Kinzer funeral home here.

The Rev. William O. Johns, Beloit, will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Gosselin, the former Mae Winkley, was born in Janesville and attended school here.

She was married to Francis Gosselin in 1901 and 10 years la later moved to Beloit. She was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal church, and the Order of the 'Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband and a daughter, Elizabeth Gosselin, Beloit, and a sister, Mrs. Alvah E.

Lloyd, Janesville. Laurence I. Baker LYNDON STATION- -Laurence Baker, 67, rural Lyndon Station, died Monday in a Madison hospital. Mr. Baker died from an infection which developed from a hand cut he suffered two weeks ago while putting markers on the ears of hogs at his farm.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p. m. Thursday in the Methodist church in Livingston, Grant county. Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Maude, and a brother Everett.

Brown, 56, of 4308 Drexel chairman of the town of Blooming Grove and a member of the Dane county board, died suddenly at his home Tuesday. Mr.

Brown operated an electrical contracting business. He was married in Janesville in 1921 to the former Clara Saager. The couple moved to Madison in 1924. A native of Unity, Marathon county, Mr. Brown was a deacon of the Central Lutheran church.

He was a member of the Madison Commonwealth Masonic lodge, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite bodies, and a BROWN officiate, and burial will be in the Poynette cemetery. Lois Kathleen Hanson STOUGHTON- Lois Kathleen Hanson, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Obert Hanson, Stoughton, died in a hospital here Tuesday. The child was born Nov. 24.

Funeral services will be held m. Thursday in the Cummings funeral home. The Rev. Joseph Cox, pastor of Anna-Maria Catholic church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery here.

Besides her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Henry and Dean, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McCarthy, all of Stoughton.

(AP) The Rt. Rev. Basche, 49, pastor of St. Mary's church at De Pere and former chancellor of the Green Bay Roman Catholic diocese, died early Tuesday at a Green Bay hospital. Msgr.

Basche held the chancellorship from 1932 to 1946, when he was appointed to the De Pere pastorate. He was named a domestic prelate by Pope Pius XII in 1949, when he became a monsignor. The priest was born in Green Bay, educated at Mount Calvary and Milwaukee, and was ordained in February, 1931. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. William Basche' of Green Bay.
