He moved to Columbus in 1944 and attended Columbus High School. He was married to Lorraine Thompson on October 9, 1947. Mr. Lewellyn owned and operated Columbus Sports Shop for six years, then Lewelryn's Furniture Stripping for 14 years until his retirement. He was a past member of the Columbus Fire Dept.

for 18 years; was elected and served as Constable for Columbus Police Dept. for four years; a past member of Columbus Jaycees, Columbus Sportsman Club, Columbus country Club; and was a member of the Olivet Congregational United Church of Christ, Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Columbus; a sop, Gary; a special daughter, Sherry (Michael) Stansberry, both of Columbus; two granddaughters, Anna Marie and Cynthea Lynn Lewellyn; a mother-in-law, Mabel Thompson of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Keith Thompson of King, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Betty (Harvey) Brossard of New Orleans; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Meffert, age 86, died on Friday, March 17, 1995 at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. The former Martha Karls was bom on August 25, 1908 to Joseph and Lena (Miller) Karls in Waunakee. She was married to Peter Meffert on October 8, 1929 and she lived all of her life in Waunakee. Her husband preceded her in death on May 22, 1984. She was a past member of the RSVP Club with Central Colony, also a member of the Golden Waun-A-Club and a member of St.

John's Catholic Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and home maker. Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Pat) Boyle of Madison, Joan (Albert) Deans of Dane and Cheryl (Russ) Wipperfurth of Waunakee; four sons, Joe (Mary Ellen) of Waunakee, Jim (Linda) of Minneapolis, Jack (Marilyn) of Waunakee and Pete (Sue) of Waunakee; 25 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; six sisters, Ar)n Karls, Delphine Petranek and Joan Schwab, all of Waunakee, Margaret Hellenbrand of Janesville, Sister Stela Marie of Fond du Lac and Dorothy (Jerry) Maly of Waunakee; three brothers, Arnold (Priscilla) Karls of Madison, Bill Karls of Waunakee, and Tom (Odelia) of Waunakee; and many nieces and nephews. Bennett, Margaret MADISON Margaret J. Bennett, age 69, of Madison died Friday, March 17, ..1995 at a Madison hospital. She was bom September 30, 1925 in Madison, the daughter of Frank R. and Olga i (Riendfliesh) Gray. She married James Bennett on November 21, 1945 in Los Angeles.

She was a lifetime 'member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as President of the Keenagers and Miriam Circle and was President of TLCW. She loved geneology, cross stitching, and was a devoted mother who had a genuine love for her family. She is survived by her husband James ten children, Terry Sandy L. Marr, Jimmy Rickey Johnny Timmy Cyndi J. Bahr, Tommy Melody A.

Scott, and Becki K. Hale; seventeen grandchildren; two brothers, Rodney Gray and Frank Gray; three sisters, Lorraine LePore, Helen Benedetto, and Barbara O'Malley. MCFARIAND Jane M. Braun, age 74, of McFarlana, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 1995, in a Madison hospital after a prolonged illness. She was bom on October 12, 1920, in Milwaukee, and has been a Dane County resident since 1967. Jane was -an executive secretary to the Chancellor of the UW Centers from 1973 until her retirement in 1983. Prior to that she worked for the Coordinating Council of Higher Education from 1968 to J973.

The former Jane Nauman married Robert Braun on June 28, 1941, jn Milwaukee; he preceded her in 1 death in 1985. She was a member of death by his parents, Esther and Dewey. He will he remembered for his lively sense of humor and unique outlook on life. He was an avid reader, a lover of music, especially the music of the 1940s era, when he played the saxophone in a dance band, and he immensely enjoyed his role as a grandparent, and also as a political pundit. A Memorial Service will be held at the SUNSET MEMORIAL GARDENS CHAPEL on Saturday, March 25, 1995 at 2:00 p.m.

There will be no visitation. In appreciation for the care and concern accorded him by the William S. Middleton Veterans Memorial Hospital, the family suggests that memorials be made to the hospital. The Joyce Funeral Home is assisting the family. Judd, Francis "Frank" MADISON Francis "Frank" Judd, age 91, died on Friday, March 17, 1995.

He was bom on February 2, 1904 in Madison. On August 17, 1930, he married Minnie Urban. Frank was a barber for over 50 years and worked in several barbershops around the Square. After his retirement, he and Minnie spent their winters in Largo, Florida until moving to the Oakwood Village Apartments in 1988. He was a long time member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a member of the Mason Lodge 5 AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Zor Shrine, Elks Lodge 410, and a former member of the Nakoma Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie of Madison; a daughter, Donna (James) Smithback of Madison; three granddaughters, Lynn (Kevin) Carey of McFariand, Laura (Bert) Slinde of Monona and Stacey Lybeck of McFariand; a grandson, David Smithback of Eagle River; eight great grandchildren; a Brother, Selmer of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, three sisters; and a daughter, Joanie at age 4. Klatt, Harriette Munson GULF BREEZE, FLORIDAMADISON Harriette Munson Klatt, age 92, died on Wednesday, March 15, 1995. She was born in Rushville, Illinois on October 29, 1902 to Dr.

Henry Orson Munson and Rosanna Mary Jane Cleary Munson. A graduate of MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, she taught nigh school science in Astoria and Downers Grove, Illinois until her marriage in 1930 to Reinhold Karl Klatt. They lived most of their married life in Towson, Maryland, and raised their children there. Reinhold died in 1977. Harriette was very active in and faithful to the Methodist Church.

Her membership in PEO was also very important to her, and she served as the Maryland State President. Her friendships with and hospitality to foreign students extended from the 1950's to the 1980's, and she visited some of them after their return to their home countries in Asia. She travelled in Europe and Africa as well. Thankful for the long life she shared with us are her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Arimanda Klatt of Madison, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Benjamin Barnard of Minneapolis, daughter Nancy Klatt of Madison; grandchildren, Nancy, Paul, Raymond, Maggie, Kenneth, and Karl; great grandchild Maria, her sister, Marian Smith of Gulf Breeze, Florida, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Her sister, Helena Pickinpaugh died in February of 1995.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 20, 1995 at 1:30 p.m. at BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3910 Mineral Point with the Reverend David Harsh officiating. Faulk-X ner, age 45, of Madison, died on Friday, March 17, 1995 at a local hospital. He was bom November 8, 1949 in Madison, the son of Richard J. and Ruth J. Faulkner. Tom was a 1967 graduate of Cambridge High School before serving with the U.S.

Navy Seabee's during the Vietnam War. He married June Duessler on June 22, 1985 in Sun Prairie. Tom was employed with Wisconsin Management Inc. as a maintenance technician. He was a member of the American Legion Post 501, the VFW post 7591, and was a very avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife June, survivors include his daughter, Heidi; two stepsons, James Zifke and Brian (Tammy) Zifke, all of Sun Prairie; his mother, Ruth Faulkner of Madison; three brothers, Henry (Lea) of Edgerton, Peter (Ruth) of Cambridge, and Bill (Donna) of Madison; four sisters, Margaret (Milton) Sprecher of Middleton, Jane (Don) Kluever of Stoughton, Pat (Bill) Imhoff of Monona, and Virginia (James) Iverson of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin; his grandmother, Beatrice Meiklejohn of Seymour, Wisconsin; his mother-in-law, Violet J. She was bom December 22, 1977 in Madison, the daughter of James and Claire Ann Holm. She attended Ten-ney Nursery, and Marquette Elementary School. At Marquette Middle School she received the Presidential Academic Fitness Award for two consecutive years. She also attended East High School, and later Malcolm Shabazz High School. Erin was an avid reader and loved music.

During her school years she played piano, participated in Marquette Strings Program, the Wisconsin Strings Festival, the East High School Bana and played French horn with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra. She was a talented athlete and a member of Madison Turners, Madtown Twisters, International Team Gymnastics and the East High Swim Team. In addition to her parents, Erin is survived by her brother Alex, at home; her paternal grandmother, Lorraine Holm, Sacramento, California; her maternal grandparents, James and Earlma Cisco, St. Armands Key, Florida. He was bom on June 2, 1924 in Madison, the son of Dewey and Esther (Gray) Johnson. He graduated from Madison West High School in 1941, and attended the UW- Whitewater. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II as a Link Trainer Instructor, and Celestial Navigation Trainer.

He was retired. Survivors include a son, Jeffrey D. (Kathryn) Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three granddaughters; a step-daughter, Bobbi (Larry) Schilbere of Watertown; a step- grandson, ana step-granddaughter; a sister, Betty J. Kowing of Madison; two nieces and five nephews. JANESVULEBLUE RIVER, WISCONSIN Dennis Gerald Elliott, age 45, of Janesville, died in the Beloit Memorial Hospital Friday evening, March 17, 1995. He was horn July 30, 1949, the son of Gerald and Bernardine (Stockwell) Elliott. He graduated from the Craig High School in Janesville. He served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant.

He worked as a Security Guard at the Fairbanks-Morse in Beloit and most recently was employed at the Rock County Humane Society in Janesville, Wisconsin. Dennis is survived by his wife, Ok-Ja Elliott of Janesville; his parents, Gerald and Bernardine Elliott of Janesville; a sister, Kathie Elliott of Roanoke, Indiana; three brothers, Daniel (Cheryl) Elliott of St. Charles, Illi Madison entered this photo entitled "The New Short Stop."
