Warren Rockton, Illinois, died on Monday morning after a brief illness. Mr.

Carpenter was born on June 14, 1914, in Malcom, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Louisa Park Carpenter. He married Ann Dvorak on March 5, 1945, in Ashland, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa in 1937. Mr. Carpenter was the owner and operator of the Transport Oil, Inc.

in Madison from 1946 to 1978. He was a veteran of World War 1 1 and he brought the original cadre to open Truax Field in 1941. He retired after 30 years in the Air Force in 1967 with the rank of Full Colonel. He was a lifetime member of the Reserve Officers Association and served in various capacities in Wisconsin and the local reserve. He was a member of the Military Order of World Wars; the Retired Officers Association; the Rockton, Illinois Lions Club and the American Legion Club of Rockton.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; three sons, Joseph Carpenter of Minneapolis, Minnesota, John Carpenter of Orlando, Florida and Michael Carpenter of Roland, Iowa; a daughter, Karen Scammell of Madison; six grandchildren; two brothers, J. David Carpenter of Ottumwa, Iowa and O. Winslow Carpenter of Camarillo, California; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Peterson of Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.

on Wednesday, at the ROSMAN, UEHLING, KINZER BLACKHAWK CHAPEL, with Father Daniel Geoghagen officiating. Burial will be in the Rockton Cemetery. Visitation will be between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Helen M. Deakins, age 80, died on Sunday, November 10, 1985, at Orchard Manor North in Lancoster. Her husband, Russell, preceded her in death in 1965. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the METCALFE KUENSTER FUNERAL HOME in Potosi, with burial will in St.

Fosshage, Irene Lingard MOUNT HOREB Irene Lingard Fosshage, age 80, died on Sunday, November 10, 1985, at Ingleside Nursing Home in Mount Horeb.

She was born on December 30, 1904, in Springdale Township to parents, Ole and Sophia (Thorsen) Lingard. On May 9, 1926, she married John C. Fosshage and they farmed together in the Mount Horeb area for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on June 30, 1966. Mrs.

Fosshage was a long-time member of Mount Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church. Also preceding her in death are her parents and three brothers, Joseph, Teddy, and Henry Lingard. Survivors include two sons, Lyle (Betty) of Madison and Neal (Audrey) of Bloomington, Minnesota; three daughters, Mrs. Norma Elmer) Baker of Mount Horeb, Mrs. Vergenne (Fred) Glaser of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Mrs.

Carol (Werner) Eugster of Leawood, Kansas; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ann Hall of Verona; four brothers, Melvin of Madison, Victor of LaCrosse, Norman of Swbastian, Florida, and Edgar of Verona. Niebuhr, Elmer A. (Red) HIGHLAND Elmer A. (Red) Niebuhr, age 77, of Highland, died on Monday, November 11, 1985, in a Madison hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Niebuhr was born at Verona, Wisconsin, on August 21, 1908.

He was married to the former Elsie Frick on October 9, 1954. He was a veteran of World War 1 1, a member of the Highland VFW and Cooties, the American Legion Post, the 40 et 8, the Masonic Lodge Number 325 of Madison, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Number 623 of Madison, and the Highland Lions Club. He was a retired volunteer fireman of Highland, a former member of the Iowa County Civil Air Patrol, a former member of the Iowa County Board, a member of the Highland Sportsman's Club, and a member of the Otter Creek Lutheran Church. He was a longtime Highland businessman, where he owned and operated Red's Supper Club, until retiring in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Elsie of Highland; a daughter, Mrs.

Stayton (Valerie) Oliver of Harvey, Louisiana; a grandson, Raymond Oliver; and a sister, Mrs. Berneta Buenzli of Verona.
