Mr. Berger was born in Nakel, Germany, and came to Cambria with his parents when he was 6 years old. He was married to Minna Borchert, Doylestown, Nov. 5, 1903, and had lived in since tnen. Survivors include his wife; a son, William, Fall River; two grandchildren, Donna Ann and Ralph Berger; two brothers, a half-brother, and three sisters.

Wounded in France BEAVER DAM Pfc. Ralph Schoenfeld, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schoenfeld, was wounded Nov. 15 in France.

He entered the service in January, 1943. A. B. Westover Passes Away Adron Baker Westover 78, of 1050 Woodrow died Tuesday at a Madison hospital. Mr.

Westover was born at Oconomowoc on Jan. 1, 1866, and had lived in Madison at various times. He and his wife had made their home with a daughter, Delia Westover, an East high school teacher, at the Woodrow st. address for the past three years. Previously they had lived at Groton, S.

Denver, St. Paul, San Rafael, and Portland, Ore.

The War Labor Board (WLB) dispute with the firm was referred to Economic Stabilization Director Fred M. Vinson after the firm refused to comply with WLB orders to grant maintenance of membership and other concessions to union employes. Meanwhile, the WLB's long fight to force Ward's board chairman, Sewell Avery, to comply with its directives spread to embrace Avery's S. Alice Polley, Los Angeles, the former Alice Brownell, Baraboo, died on Monday at her home in California, where she had been critically ill, according to word received by her brother, A. A. Brownell, Baraboo. Mrs. Polley was born in Mauston and had resided in Reedsburg and Baraboo, prior to going to California.

She is to be buried in Los Angeles. John McCann Rites CASSVILLE Funeral services were held this morning in St. Charles church for John F. McCann, 83, who died at his home Sunday night after a long illness. The Rev.

Elizabeth Williams, 84, who died at a Richland Center hospital Sunday. Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of the Lone Rock vicinity. Mrs. Lucy France EVANSVILLE Mrs.

Lucy Lawrence Cahill, Jr. Lawrence Cahill, Madison, was found dead in bed at Hotel Loraine today, Coroner Edward Fischer reported. The coroner attributed death to a heart attack. He said the body was found about 11 a. m.

by Fred Burke, who had been caring for Mr. Cahill at night and had left him around 9 a.m. Mr. Cahill formerly worked on a civilian construction crew in Alaska. He is survived by his father, Lawrence, Madison, a son in Madison and a daughter in Miami, Fla.

Harold Roberts Rites DODGEVILLE The body of Harold Roberts, 18, fireman first class, who died Monday at a naval hospital at St. Albans, N. after an illness, will arrive at the Lullof funeral home here Friday morning.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in the Methodist church, the Rev. Dean W. Irish officiating.

Burial will be in East-side cemetery. Fireman Roberts was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Roberts, Dodgeville. Walter Speer Rites JANESVILLE Funeral services for Walter Speer, 74, Janesville, who died were held here Tuesday.

Burial was in the Cooksville cemetery. Born in the town of Rutland, he was a lifelong resident of Janesville and vicinity. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtie Speer; two sons, Fred, Ft. Atkinson, and Cecil, Janesville; a daughter, Mrs.

The former Lucy Crist, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Nancy Ann Millspaugh Crist and was born in the town Center. She was married June 7, 1877, at Evansville to Livingston France and she had lived her entire life since then at 227 Main st. in Evansville until she moved to the home of the daughter two years Crist, a member of the Methodist church and of the Eastern Star of Evansville, is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. John Scheible, Baraboo; one granddaughter, a a grandson, Lieut.
