Students will be fined $157 and taken back to school if they violate the ordinance. Although a truancy law is in effect, a student must have five un-excused absences before the school begins the enforcement process, according to Assistant Principal Rocky Falcone. He hopes the new law will discourage kids from skipping class.

Mrs. Apfel was a graduate of Evansville High School and Rock County Normal College. She was a rural school teacher for many years in the Evansville area. On June 24, 1926 she was united in marriage to Lloyd F. Apfel, he preceded her in death in 1973.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, Methodist Women's Society, American War Mothers, and Rovai Neighbors. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert (Shirley) Apfel of Union Grove, and Gerald (Lois Apfel of Janesville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris (Arthur) CHsen of Evansville, and Nadene (Thomas) Dreher of Evansville; dSughter-in-law, Joyce Apfel eleven of -Madison; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene; son, Robert; granddaughter, Angela; brother, Robert; and sister, Dorothy. She was born October 19, 1907 in the Town of Berry, Dane County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ffederich and Mayme Hawley. She was married to Harvey L. Bartsch on December 13, 1927. Dotha worked at Scanlan-Morris and Ohio Medical.

Dotha's husband, Dr. Harvey L. Bartsch, M.D., a member of the American College of Surgeons, preceded her in death in 1983 at Sun City, Arizona. She is survived by two sons, Harvey L. Bartsch, of Middleton and Presque Isle, Wisconsin and Richard E.

Bartsch, South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Debra Bartsch, Indian Hills, Colorado, Diane McCoy, South Bend, Indiana, and Harvey L. Bartsch III, Middle-t)nPresque Isle. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sjster, Mildred; and two brothers, Forest Hawley and Kenneth Hawley. Sne was born in Waunakee, Wisconsin, on February 7, 1910, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Endres) RJpp. She married Peter H. Clemens on June 14, 1932, and they farmed fdr over 50 years just north of Dane. She was a member of St.

Michael's Catholic Church in Dane and the Altar Society. Ellen was born on March 19, 1942 in Almond, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harvey R. and Kathleen M. (Mehne) Am-mel. Ellen married Raymond Plummer on January 12, 1968 in Rockford, Illinois. Ellen worked for A.B.S.

Schwefel, age 94, of Watertown, died on Tuesday morning, November 18, 1997 at Marquardt Memorial Manor. Elsie Lydia Born was born in the Town of Lebanon on March 23, 1903, the daughter of William Born and Emily Mueller.

On October 23, 1920 she was united in marriage to Carl A. Schwefel at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neosho. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1954. Elsie was a self-taught seamstress, and was a member of St.

Mark's Lutheran Church in Watertown. Survivors include four daughters, Myrtle Hrobsky of Lakeland, Florida, Ruth (Fred) Dob-bratz of Madison, Marie (Ray) Dob-bratz of Watertown, and Ora (Louis) Kukkan of Watertown; four sons, Ruben (Margie) of Dousman, Roy of Watertown, Wilmar (Daisy) of Deforest, and John of Ludlow, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Ida Bliss of Oconomowoc, and Hilda Gallagher of Palo Alto, California; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, George Hrobsky; two sisters, Delia Mann, and Leona Saeger; and two brothers, Hubert and Leonard. Wilkinson, Carrie Ann WAUNAKEE Carrie Ann Wilkinson, age 10, died on Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at her home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Carrie was born on February 20, 1987 in Madison. She attended Crestwood Elementary School in Madison. She was an avid Rock and Roll fan and enjoyed calling WIBA and requesting tier favorite songs. Carrie oelonged to the Wells Campus Lutheran Church in Madison. Sne is survived by her mother, Paula (Mike) Steiger of Waunakee; and her father, Larry Wilkinson, Mesa, Arizona; her brother, Justin, Waunakee; maternal grandmother, Kathleen Montgomery, Galena, Illinois; paternal grandparents, George and Mary Wilkinson of Fennimore, Wisconsin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at LORD AND SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH in Waunakee. Reverend Tom Trapp will conduct the service. Her great grandchildren, Alexandra Stanger and Kailie Kirk Kordosky were fortunate to share a home with her and will dearly miss their Grandma Joan who they help to care for during her brief illness. Also surviving is her great granddaughter, Michelle Kordosky of Stevens Point and her two sons, Earl and Larry. Surviving siblings are Helen Margie and Eve (Don) Brown of Florida, Adam "Babe" (Shirley) Romano of Naper-ville, Illinois, Ida (Ray) O'Connell of Indiana and Julie (Melvin) Johnson of California.

Joan leaves many nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention in Chicago, Florida and Madison who loved her and will miss her always. Kaiser, age 53, of Highland, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at the Sauk County Health Care Center, after a 2 12 year battle following an aneurysm. The former Bonnie Jennings was born on November 11, 1944 in Passaic, New Jersey to George Dorothy (Segor) Jennings.

She married Pete McCardell and lived in Washington State until she moved to Wisconsin in 1980. Bonnie then married Joe Kaiser of Avoca. She had been employed at Stauffer Cheese Company in Blue Mounds until her illness in May of 1995. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Lisa McCardell and Dawn Greenleaf, both of Mount Terrace, Washington; two grandchildren, Brandon and Bronson Greenleaf; a sister, Judy Nichols of Jeffersonville, New York; a brother, Craig Jennings of Muscoda; a special friend, Tim Leonard of Highland; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was born on April 22, 1921 the daughter of Louis Ashley and Grace (VanNostrand) VanKleeck. She is survived by her husband, Paul Knoke of Fairport; a daughter, Grace Mullard of Fairport; a son Paul Knoke of Rochester; two granddaughters, Kathleen and Joanna Mullard of Fairport; and many relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 1997 at 2:00 p.m.

McNamer, age 74, of Hills- boro and formerly of Lodi, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 1997 at his rural home.

He was born on December 28, 1922 to Alvin and Mary (Burreau) McNamer at Hub City. He graduated from the Richland Center High School, attended UW-Plattevifle and graduated from the Platteville Teachers College, later earning a B.S. Degree from UW-Platteville. He was married to Vercelia Pliner on June 1, 1948 in Hillsboro. They lived at Lodi from 1953 until 1977, where he taught general studies for many years and later Arts and Crafts at the Lodi Schools, until his retirement, when they moved back to their rural Hillsboro farm.

He was a member of the Masons Lodi Valley Lodge 99 and the Hillsboro Lodge. He also served in the United States Marines during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Vercelia of Hillsboro; two sons, Frank of Janesville and Wayne of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Kelly and Shaun; a brother, Theodore (Julia) of Baraboo; and several nieces ana nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Allen; and infant brother, Cyril; and three side. Joe was born on June 10, 1917 in Lyndon Station, the son of William and Leona (Dixon) Doyle.

He lived all of his life but five years, from 1946 until 1951, in Lyndon Station. He attended St. Mary's Grade School, Campion High School and Mauston High School. He also attended Marquette University in Milwaukee. In 1941 he was inducted into the United States Army and served his country honorably in the European African Middle Eastern Theater until 1945.

He attained the rank of staff sergeant and received four bronze battle stars, the American Defense Service Ribbon, five Overseas Service Bars, a service stripe, good conduct medal and a Meritorious Unit Award. After the military, he married Carol Cauley on January 26, 1946 at St. Ann's Catholic Church and this marriage was blessed with four children. Joe returned to working with the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Rail Road.

He retired in 1979 after 43 years of service with most of his duties being a conductor on this lane and with Amtrak. Joe also loved to be outside, particularly gardening, hunting and fishing. Sports were also dear to him. He had a brief tryout with a baseball major league team and in the 1960's he started a little league team in Lyndon Station and coached this for many years. Joe had been the Post Commander for 13 years of the Maurice C.

Havey V.F.W. Post 5970 of Lyndon Station and held many positions on the St. Mary's Catholic Church council. Joe was an asset to his country and his community. Joe will be dearly missed by his wife, Carol; sons, Joseph (Eileen) Doyle, Jr.

of Pickney, Michigan, Tim (Laurene) Doyle of Mauston, and Dan (Tianne) Doyle of Anna Maria, Florida; and a daughter, Gail Ann (Doyle) Bundy of Lyndon Station. Also 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at SAINT MARYS CATHOLIC CHURCH of Lyndon Station.

Father Ronald Zinkle will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery of rural Lyndon Station. Visitation will be held at the CONWAY-PICHA FUNERAL HOME of Lyndon Station, from 3:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Hughes, age 54, of Madison, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 18, 1997, of cancer. She was born in Fennimore to Leo and Lois Lind and raised in Shullsburg. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1966 with a degree in Business and Economics. She taught at several schools including Madison Business College and Madison Area Technical College. She has worked for the past several years at the City Attorney's Office.

Nancy is survived by her children, Bridget and Timothy Hughes of Madison; and her brother, Michael (Helen) Lind of Port Charlotte, Florida. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 1997, at 2:00 p.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road. "Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 27, 1919, to Adam and Theresa Romano. Joan enjoyed working at her furniture business in Chicago for many years and had a great flair for decorating. After she retired she especially enjoyed her home in Venice, Florida where she lived for 23 years. She kept busy cooking for and entertaining all the friends and family that visited her, and caring for the fruit trees she had grown from tender plants and which rewarded her in abundance. She was a tower of strength through much adversity and always gave more than she had.

Joan was preceded in tarns. responsible. He was born on July 4, 1930, in the Township of Windsor to Peter and Nattie (Johnson) Wangsness. He moved from Madison to Marco Island in 1978, and he attended the Marco Lutheran Church there. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Renninger) Wangsness of Marco Island; three sons, Russell A. Wangsness of Brooklyn, Wisconsin, Jeffrey Wangsness of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, and Scott L. Wangsness of Naples, Florida; two step-children, Vicki L.

Mason of Marco Island, and DuWayne D. Mason; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Aleta Harbort, Florence M. Minor, and Gladys B. Johnson, all of Madison. He was pre-' ceded in death by three children, John Wangsness in 1970, Peter Wangsness in 1973, and Diane Mason in 1978; three brothers, Olin, Clarence, and Lawrence; and two sisters, Irene Ellingson and Alice Larson.

Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 1997, with the Reverend Mike Campbell presiding. Burial will follow at the Norway Grove Cemetery in DeForest. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
