Fischer, Joshua Richard DEERFIELD Josh (Q-Ball) Fischer, age 5, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 22, 2000, due to complications from a rare and undetected birth defect. Josh was born March 11, 1994 in Deerfield to Rich and Sandy Fischer. Josh was in kindergarten at Deerfield Elementary and loved spending his days at school with his friends. He was a very happy and caring five year old. He had a passion for technology.

He loved playing games on the computer since he was three and was thrilled by a Nintendo 64 gift for Christmas he. and his sister Jennifer got. Josh also loved sports. In the past two years, he took karate, swimming, and played soccer and basketball which allowed him to make new friends. Although Josh was good at all these activities, what we will miss the most, are the day to day simple gifts that Josh gave all of us, like his smile, his faugh, and his imagination.

He could create the most wonderful, elaborate and imaginative worlds with his toys. As a family, we enjoyed many activities together: adventure walks including climbing the bluffs of Devils Lake, snowmo-biling, four wheeling, and jet skiing up north. One of many highlights of 1 Associated Press JANESVILLE Ice floes and subzero windchills were all part of the sport Saturday for a group of water skiers trying to be on the water every month of the year. "We have 50 skiers signed up. The contest is gonna start as soon as we get the ice out of the way," a public address system declared Saturday at the Rock River event "They're nuts.

Who's the mac-adamia on skis out there?" Cheryl Cornell of Richmond, III, remarked from the comfort of a cocktail lounge. Temperatures were in the mid-205. A water skier towed by a boat at 30 mph or more could calculate the windchill factor at 11 degrees below zero. The first Winter Waterland celebration at Newville was organized by Ryan Williams, Janesville, by fellow skier Jeremy Anderson and by John Kinnett, owner of the nearby Anchor Inn. Williams, Anderson and some Janesville friends have waterskied each month for 24 consecutive months.

Competition followed a session of open skiing with participants having to shove ice floes aside so they could take off from a dock. Often barefoot, young men sprinted up a snow-covered hill to immerse themselves in a hot tub. "Yeah, it's cold. My face was a little chilly and I could not feel my toes," Williams said from the tub, "but you get some adrenaline going and it's Jan. 22 and you're skiing in front of 60 people.

It's great" The crowd grew to about 200. The essential apparel is a dry suit "It's a plastic suit completely sealed with rubber seals at the neck, wrists and ankles," Thomas Schmidt of Watertown said. "It's like a big garbage bag." Before taking to the icy water, skiers warmed themselves and their equipment in the steaming hot tub. Schlamp, Kenneth C.
