Stoughtor Komplin, Leone 79. Horeb Murphy, Gladys Roisum, Clifford 74. Stoeberl, George Alvin, 66 West, Sanford 79. Grove COTTAGE GROVE David M. Bowers, age 78, of Cottage Grove, died on Friday, March 1, 1996 at Stoughton Hospital from pneumonia.

David was born on October 16, 1917 in Arlington, the son of Olin and Alice (Melby) Bowers. He farmed all his adult life and served as a director on the Board of Cenex Farmers Union He also served on the Gaston School Board and the St. Patrick Catholic Church Council for many years. He is survived by his wife, Angela; two sons, Joseph Bowers of Joliet, Illinois and Jeffrey Bowers of Cottage Grove; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob; and a sister, Olive Hansen; and a brother-in-law, Ervin Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at ST. PATRICK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 434 North Main 1 Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 1996. Father David H. Runde will be officiating.

Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 at the GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Breunig, Bernita "Bonnie" ROXBURY Bernita "Bonnie" Breunig, age 84, died on Saturday, March 2, 1996 after a long and courageous with ALS (Lou Nursing She was born in Gehrig's Disease), at Maplewood Roxbury on October 4, 1911, the daughter of the late Frank and Matilda (Greiber) Neumaier. She was united in marriage to Ewald Peter Breunig on October 28, 1936 in Roxbury. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 28, 1986. Bonnie was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Catholic Knights Society.

She was a past member and officer of the parish Christian Mothers Society. Bonnie was a volunteer for Dane County Red Cross and Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was a lifelong resident of Roxbury. Survivors include four sons, Peter (Dorothy) of Waunakee, Paul (Shirley) of Roxbury, Michael of Milwaukee and Pat (Agnes) of Waunakee; three daughters, Mary (friend Peter Casey) of Madison, Martha Brunner of Black Earth and Ruth (friend Ron Ripp) Kleisch of Madison; ten grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Francis (Catherine) Neumaier of Sauk City and Aaron "Bud" (Helen) Neumaier of Roxbury; a sister, Angie (Elmer) Fisk of Poynette; a brother-in-law, Sam Sawle of Arena; four sisters-inlaw, Patricia Neumaier of Sauk City, Lidwina (Vincent) Breunig, Veronica and Agnes Breunig, all of Roxbury; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ewald on June 7, 1992; an infant daughter, Joan; three infant grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Neumaier and Vernon Neumaier; two sisters, Armella Kalscheur and Lenore Sawle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held ST. NORBERT'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 with Father William Stack, Father Frank Brickl and Father John Hedrick celebrating the mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m.

DEATH NOTICES STOUGHTON Mabel O. Holtan, age 90, of Stoughton, away on Saturday, March 2, 1996 at the Skaalen Sunset Home. She was born on April 23, 1905 in the Township of Rutland, the daughter of the late Erick and Sena (Peterson) Sperloen. She married Theodore Holtan in October, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1984.

She farmed with her husband in the town of Pleasant Springs moving to Stoughton in 1945. She was employed at the Rainfair Garment Factory and then went to work for the Stoughton Shoe Factory from where she retired. She was a member of the First Lutheran where she belonged to the Women. She Church, also was a former member of the Pythian Sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Ardys (Douglas) Pfundheller of Stoughton; son, Fritz Holtan of Stoughton; three grandchildren; nine two, sisters, Pearl Spencer of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Olga Schmidt of Middleton; and a brother, Oscar Sperloen of Stoughton.

She is also survived nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters; and one brother. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 at the FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH in Stoughton. The Reverend James Schwarz will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Olson-Holzhuter Funeral Home Stoughton a prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and also on Tuesday morning at the church at 10:00 a.m.

HOREB Leone Gladys Komplin, age 79, died on Saturday, March 2, 1996. Leone was born on March 10, 1916 to parents Milo and Lillie (Arneson) Anderson. She was a member er of the Barneveld Lutheran Church and lived all of her life in the Barneveld-Mt. Horeb area. Leone is survived by her sons, Gary (Wylene) Kiely of Cameron, North Carolina and Larry Komplin of Gulf, North Carolina; a stepson, Ralph (Dorothy) Komplin of Ridgeway, Wisconsin; her daughters, Marilyn DeNure of Argyle, Sharon (Garth) Christensen of Salem, Oregon and Gail (Larry) Valstad of Mt.

Horeb; step-daughters, Jeanette (Johnnie) Anderson of Mt. Horeb and Irene Hendrickson of Barneveld; her sisters, Lillian (Jack) McGann of Verona and Donna Baldwin of Kenosha; a brother, Jerome Anderson of Gridley, California; 44, grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Selmer; her sons, Marvin who died in infancy and Lyle; four stepsons, Clifford, Marvin, Olvin and Harold Komplin. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. from Barneveld Lutheran Church Reverend Dennis O'Brien officiating.

Interment will be in the Blue Mounds Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 1996 at the ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME in Mt. Horeb.

Mom, the love you gave so willingly will be with us all forever. Murphy, Gladys A. ARENA Gladys A. Murphy, age 92, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 1996, at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Arena, Wisconsin, on July 18, 1903, the daughter of the late Herman and Harriet (Gilden) Stebnitz. She married Earl James Murphy in August, 1923. They spent their entire lives farming in Arena Township. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Donald (Marilyn) of Madison, Rosemary (Bud) Olson of Arena, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Murphy of Edgerton, Francis (Joanne) Madison, Wendell (Sharon) of Park City, Utah, Robert (Donna) of Arena, Earl (Marie) of Arena, Gladys (Joseph) Smith of Sheboygan, Janet (Stan) Wetter of Cuba City, Thomas (Mary) of Middleton, and Patricia (Merle) Leifker of Spring Green. Her life was blessed with 51 grandchildren; 6C Wisconsin State Journal, Monday, March 4, 1996 252-6320 60 great-grandchildren; and two great-great granddaughters. She is further survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Earl, she was preceded in death by two sons, fiarlan and Jerald; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Vigliotti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST.

BARNABAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Mazomanie, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1996, with Father Charles Schluter officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, March 4, 1996, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

at the Church, where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., and also on Tuesday, March 5, 1996, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Her 12 children were such an important part of her life. You and Dad taught us great qualities in life and respect for everyone. You will be dearly missed by all of your family. GNEWIKOW-HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME Mazomanie Roisum, Clifford H. DEFOREST Clifford H. Roisum, age 74, of rural DeForest, died Sunday, March 3, 1996 at the Belmont Nursing and Rehab Center in Madison.

A lifelong resident and farmer, Clifford Hanson Roisum was born December 1, 1921 at DeForest to Oscar and Kate (Hanson) Roisum. Survivors include a sister, Arlene (Joe) Muzatko of Sun Prairie; and two nieces. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 at 11:30 a.m. the EDWARDSONAXTELL FUNERAL HOME in DeForest. Reverend Jerry Olson will officiate.

Burial will be in the Norway Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Edwardson-Axtell Funeral Home in DeForest on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services. Stoeberl, George Alvin MADISON George Alvin Stoeberl, age 66, died on Sunday, March 3, 1996, at his home. He was born on April 16, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George and Mary (Essig) Stoeberl.

He graduated from Montello High School and then attended U.W. Oshkosh. He married the former Mary Ann Weiske on May 17, 1952, in Montello. During the United States Reserves. Korean War George, served in George worked as a sales representative at U.W.

Provision for 10 years, retiring in September, 1991. He was also employed at Kraft Foods, Alpha Distributors, Neesvig's and as a meatcutter for Poole's Supper Club. George was also a part-time instructor at MATC for 6 years in the Hotel and Restaurant Program for the Meat Identification Course, and he owned and operated the Montello Food Mart in partnership with his father from 1952-1957. George learned everything he knew about meat from his father. George was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he was an usher, and also a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; five children, Gerald (Amber) of Madison, Carol (Robert) Sliwka of Lambertville, Michigan; Margaret (Craig) Marvin, Teresa (James). Raffel, and Thomas (Diane), all of Madison; nine grandchildren, Margaret and Luke Sliwka, Maxwell, Alexander and Mary Marvin, Anthony and Patrick Raffel, Hilary and Maranda Stoeberl; a brother, Ralph (Alice) of Mundelein, Illinois; a sister, Joan (Richard) Hunter of Montello; and many nieces; nephews; family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at 11:00 a.m. at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, with Reverend John M.

Meinholz officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Montello. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

June, 1995, George and Mary, along, with his American relatives, met his German relatives at his father's homestead and hotel in Lam, Germany.

For most, it was a first time meeting. This was a memorable occasion. George loved his family and instilled in them the value of hard work and children. He especially Grandpa's enjoyed arms his were grand- best for Special thanks to Father John, Dr. Olinger, and the caring people from Hospice.

God saw that you were getting tired when a cure was not to be. So He closed His arms around you and whispered, "Come to me. You didn't deserve what you went through and so He gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. And when I saw you sleeping so peaceful, free from pain; I could not wish you back, to suffer that again.

West, Sanford C. GROVE C. West, age 79, of Deerfield, died on Sunday, March 3, 1996 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Hillebrandt, age 79, died on March 2, 1996, at his home. He was born on June 20, 1916, in Baraboo, the son of Albin and Isabelle (Kaege) Hillebrandt. He married the former Irene Buss on September 15, 1951, at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Catholic Church. served in the United States Army during World War II from 1941 until 1945. Bob worked at the American Exchange Bank as a teller and at Hanson's Frozen Foods as a Food Broker Salesman.

Bob was past commander of VFW Post a member of the East Side Businessmans' Association, GMR, and St. Dennis Catholic Church, where he was an usher fond many years. He enjoyed golfing model trains. He is survived by his wife, Irene; two brothers, Jack (Vivian) Hillebrandt of Madison, and Dick (Joan) Hillebrandt of Appleton; a brotherin-law, Clarence (Margaret) Buss of Cottage Grove; a sister-in-law, Rosella Buss of Cottage Grove; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Lorraine, Nancy, and Regina.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at 11:00 a.m. at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, with the Reverend Randy Timmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery where there will be military, graveside rites conducted by the Madison Area Veterans Counsel. Friends may call on Monday, March 4, 1996, p.m.
